2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Clear amber liquid with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of buttery bourbon, caramel, biscuit, wood, vanilla, bread and more butter. Very buttery. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of light bourbon, caramel, toffee and butter. Light to medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Bit watery. Bland and buttery. Meh.
Bottle from local supermarket. Really an ok beer, but not a well made bourbon barrel ale colui72 (1032) - HONG KONG - JUN 29, 2017
Pours copper, fizzy, with a finger of cream head, with good sticky lacing. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch and Bourbon. Tastes is... good! So damn! tasty! butterscotch, caramel, molasses, bourbon, oak, ripe fruits. Some minimal tart notes, quite sweet with a very low bitterness. Smooth and creamy, fully bodied, softly carbonated, long finish. Loving this ale, delicious to me! WillemsUrenkel (1877) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JUN 27, 2017
12 fl oz bottle purchased at Sam The Beer Man, Binghamton NY. Pours out in a clear pale copper with a small head. Taste has definitive Bourbon elements. Boozy. Some sweetness, pale malt. Thins out to the end. Nothing really wrong but can not convince me. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JUN 1, 2017
On tap at McGillicuddys, Five Corners, Essex Junction, VT.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a bar pours kind of slim cap of a head. Seemed to just trickle right on into the beer.
The aroma had some super sweet wood to milk chocolate, subtle fudge, vanilla extract and some bubblegum.
The flavor seemed to pull all of the prior mentioned aromas together super sweet and right on into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine as well. Honestly, going to say, its a bit watery to be honest.
Overall, hmmmm....the things I do just to get to my 6000th rating, well, honestly, its not that bad, but probably not one to desperately seek out again. Its really sweet all around. 0nTheRoad (1) - - MAY 20, 2017 does not count
Nice hint of bourbon in the smell. Smooth taste and a smooth finish, very low hint of hippiness.

Was expecting more punch of bourbon, richness and smokiness. Got some recognizable flavors but felt watered down.

Draft at Ale House Cocoa Beach. Deep gold pour off white head. Bourbon notes deep malt caramel. Ok theprof (961) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2017
Tap. Aroma is firmly Bourbon but below that lurks caramel malts and vanilla. Given that mine was emphatically brown I am bemused by the term golden in other reviews as my wedding band will never be this red. A circle of white bubbles topped the ale. Taste is toffee with an alcoholic kick. If salted caramel or Werther’s Original ever lay in a barrel in Kentucky then their popularity might sour. And children might stumble. Carbonation soft Body full. Palate loaded. No horse in this race. hman43 (1588) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - APR 15, 2017
It pours golden widh some low bitterness, floral hops, and grainy sweetness. PhillyBeer2112 (2850) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2017
I’ve been avoiding this for awhile, suspecting it wasn’t going to be very good. I was mostly right, but it was better than expected. So it’s nice to have something bourbon barrel aged that isn’t an imperial stout. Here though I could barely tell there was much oomph to the underlying ale. A heavier old ale/barleywine would work better. Decent vanilla/bourbon and oak flavors, lightly sweet caramel malts.
