Bottle, 8.19% at BBF13. Weak malty aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. Vanilla, liqueur, marzipan flavour. Disappointing. Ferris (15275) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 8, 2014
Bottle - Sweet whiskey grain notes. Clear copper with a thin head. Oak, grain and light bourbon notes. Much lighter than expected with sweet barrel noes vs the heavy bourbon. bhensonb (15194) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Bottle from Liz. Pours clear orange amber with a slight, transient white head. Aroma is mostly bourbon/vanilla with a hint of oak. Med body. It’s rather sweet, with hints of treacle. The oak is identifiable, and the bourbon/vanilla is clearly present. Yet it is not a strongly flavored ale. Heat is marginally detectable. Finishes on the non-dry side. It has a caramel sugar candy aspect. But the oak offsets that. Really interesting and pretty tasty. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 10, 2011

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear deep golden to amber color. Aroma of malt, lots of vanilla, wood, toffee, nutty notes, a bit of bourbon and a slightly alcoholic finish. Medium-bodied. OK, but heavy and not really my thing. djd07 (14517) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 16, 2015

Draught at World of Beers, Key West. Amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of vanilla, bourbon, alochol, spice, caramel, malt and fruit. Tmoney99 (14486) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 4, 2005
Draft. Tried the other two brews from this maker to compare to this at the end. I like bourbon and barrel aged brews that are mostly stouts. This clearly is a different taste due to the fact that they used their ale as the base and the medium fizzy body and texture. Very interesting and good.
