Had this for the first time in an eatery in Lakewood Oh with a fresh ground burger, medium well, with a fried egg on top along with lettuce and tomato. Excellent beer. Now I need to find a store where I can buy this beer. hardypc (38) - - FEB 19, 2013
A unique brew that combines a smooth ale with the flavor and alcohol of Kentucky bourbon. I highly enjoy the regular Kentucky Ale as well. With an ABV of over 8% it packs a whallop and is perfect for dinner or exchanging wine for a fine craft brew. reassembler (1) - - MAR 12, 2013 does not count
Great balance of flavor and crispness. Much better on tap than in bottle. I’m not a fan of the bourbon barrel stouts. To heavy and cloying. This is an ale and for me they got it right. onceblind (9627) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 2, 2014
Clear dark golden with an amazing aroma like boozy vanilla cake batter; lots of sugary vanilla, cake, and a light touch of cinnamon. Flavor is wonderful with notes of light char, light brown sugary bourbon, some oak, lots of vanilla and cake mix, warm earthy boozy toffee, with a slightly cinnamon/vanilla finish. Really swell. Wow great beer. Most likely not for everyone. First thought someone put a little bourbon in my beer. But the flavor is really good. I would say if you like Jack, Jim or a few of the other famous guys from the south you will really enjoy this beer. If you do not know these guys might not be the beer for you. If you are out try one, pass on a shot and just enjoy this fine beer by itself.

Very unique beer really one of a kind. Great nuances of bourbon on the nose and pallet. The deep malt flavor is complemented nicely by caramel and vanilla notes. Don2711 (474) - - JUL 4, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2016 Really good. Dark amber with malt maize and caramel bourbon hints and tastes. Great strength and extremely moreish. Will definitely try again. Probably one of best bottled ales I?ve drunk. Gets even better second time. Very smooth. colui72 (1020) - HONG KONG - JUN 29, 2017
Pours copper, fizzy, with a finger of cream head, with good sticky lacing. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch and Bourbon. Tastes is... good! So damn! tasty! butterscotch, caramel, molasses, bourbon, oak, ripe fruits. Some minimal tart notes, quite sweet with a very low bitterness. Smooth and creamy, fully bodied, softly carbonated, long finish. Loving this ale, delicious to me! schquigly (18) - louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 28, 2006
great tasting ale. very sweet and finishes smooth. made right down the street! DalzAle (2037) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - FEB 9, 2010
Bottle bonus thanks to phaleslu! Clear amber pour, little carbonation and an extremely strong whiskey aroma (seriously, smelled like a well made manhattan!) Flavor was also closer to a mixed drink rather than a beer, smooth vanilla, bourbon and some malt on the backbone. Not overpowering in the booze department, but still flavorful. Anyone who enjoys a good manhattan would probably enjoy this. Really glad I got to try this one!!!
