Carefully crafted by Alltech’s master brewers, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout® builds on the success of its barrel-aged brother, the beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed and aged with Alltech® Café Citadelle Haitian coffee and aged in world-famous Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is a complex stout with dark-roasted malts, hints of caramel and vanilla and a lightly roasted coffee finish.

ordybill (1758) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - JUN 1, 2016
Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a rich dark black color with a small tan head. The aroma is a blend of malt, bourbon and a good dose of alcohol. The taste is a fine blend of all of the aromas. An outstanding beer.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, alcohol, bitter nuts, earth, tobacco and at the very end - some of the oak and bourbon.Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy, nutty and very earthy flavour with some roasted malts, coffee, tobacco and burnt oak flavours noticeable. Aftertaste shows mostly meat and assertive earth coupled with roasted malt, alcohol and a little oak. Overall, a pretty funky beer that isn’t a stout at all - perhaps a porter, a brown or an old ale, but not complex, not pungent and not showing much bourbon at all! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$4,00 sampled at home in Washington on 26-May-2016 a few hours before heading back to New York.

tightslice (1309) - Redwood City, California, USA - MAY 17, 2016
Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Winter Park, FL. Aroma is spent coffee, some smoky caramel, some vanilla, touch of bourbon. Taste is strong, acidic coffee with some light fruit and vanilla notes. Had much more of a coffee vibe despite the name. Could use some more bourbon.

boto (2211) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAY 14, 2016
Draught @ Tapped: Surprisingly served in a pint glass. This one pours a dark, inky opaque brown color. It had a fingers worth of a tight brown head that didn’t linger long. Nice aroma. Touch of bourbon, faint chocolate, faint roastiness, malts. A little more than medium bodied. Good taste and only a touch of the bourbon. Chocolate malts. Actually a touch of bitterness over the slight sweetness.

ABUSEDGOAT (2759) - California, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Black pour, small tan head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is one dimensional oak barrel, vanilla, chocolate, roast. Medium bodied, this is about as predictable as a BA stout can be - simplistic chocolate barrel flavor with a little bit more. This brewery has a great business concept but fails to execute.

3.5
oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 11, 2016
- Pours a deep dark brown color. Small tan head head that lasted throughout. Aromas of bourbon and wood. Flavor was a lot of bourbon, hints of smoke, chocolate. Full bodied and creamy. Tasted more bourbon than beer.
