COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carefully crafted by Alltechs master brewers, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout builds on the success of its barrel-aged brother, the beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed and aged with Alltech Caf Citadelle Haitian coffee and aged in world-famous Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is a complex stout with dark-roasted malts, hints of caramel and vanilla and a lightly roasted coffee finish.

Pours black with small head. Aroma: beautiful aroma of fresh coffee, dark roasted malt. Taste: coffee, roastiness, some acidity (like from black coffee). Great one but I do not really smell/taste the barrel.

Coffee aroma on the nose, certainly smells better than it tastes. Vanilla and bourbon up front and a bit astringent as it goes down the hatch. Mouth feel is watery for a stout. OK.

Bottle - Black colour with small beige head, poor retention. Sweet toffee nose with decent barrel aroma, some roasted malts, chocolate. Taste is chocolate, some coffee, caramel and woody, earthy notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture, roasty and a bit boozy finish. Not bad, but ist like a demo version of this style.

Poured into a snifter. 2.5 A: Dark brown color. I couldnt get much of a head to form, even with an aggressive pour. 3.25 S: Smells like a weasel or a muskrat with a dirty earthy vibe. Big leather from the barrel, supply roasted coffee. Like all of their beers, the barrel is the focus. Oak, vanilla, toastiness, caramel, apple, and toffee. Not a whole lot of stout going on though. Still, the barrel and coffee smell nice. 3.0 T: Again, mainly coffee and barrel. Coffee is the strongest flavor. Oak, leather, and vanilla follow. Caramel and apple. Tastes more like a cup of coffee than an imperial stout. 3.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking in creaminess but not too bad here. 2.75 D: Its not bad, but its not much of a beer. ★ 770 characters DavoleBomb, Sep 12, 2015

Bottle. It poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of coffee, bourbon, vanilla, caramel and some chocolate. The taste was similar to the aroma with caramel, coffee, roast, chocolate and vanilla. Good stuff.

Very thin for stout. Seems like a bourbon barrel porter more than a stout. Strange taste. Probably the worst bourbon barrel stout that I have tasted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the brother in-law. Pours opaque, thin mocha/ khaki head, lace spots but minor. Nose is deep dark roast malt. Nose is pure coffee. Tastes bitter, coffee, sweet.

Bottle. Pours a flat black body with a small fizzy beige head that faded quickly to a thin ring. The nose is slightly sweet with some dark caramel, a slight bourbon note, minimal wood, coffee, and some dark chocolate. The flavor is not quite as sweet as I was expecting, its a bit weak and bland really. Just the slightest character from the barrel, more coffee than anything. Minimal alcohol flavor, especially for an 8% ABV. Lighter bodied with a slight cling on the finish and light fizzy carbonation. Meh, a little boring this one.

12oz bottle of beer available to me that I got in a shitty trade. Another after work Thanksgiving beer with the squad. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, caramel, and hints of bad coffee. Taste mimics the nose with a thin mouthfeel.

Mild. No bitter. Could have a thicker consistency but its still in line with some of the other stouts Ive had. Its a fair stout and I would drink it again.
