COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carefully crafted by Alltechs master brewers, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout builds on the success of its barrel-aged brother, the beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed and aged with Alltech Caf Citadelle Haitian coffee and aged in world-famous Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is a complex stout with dark-roasted malts, hints of caramel and vanilla and a lightly roasted coffee finish.

Poured from bottle, no head. Nice bourbon smell but virtually no bourbon taste at all. Lots of coffee and seems to me almost like coffee flavored sparkling water. Had high hopes but they were dashed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strong, rich aroma of roast coffee and humorous. Appears a deep amarose or penchlen. Tastes good, strongly of coffee again, not a lot of Bourbon, or at least not as sweet as some. Cola and ankleberry, some cigarette. No head retention, and thin body, a bit lacking to my tastes there. Overall probably best a touch warmer than straight icebox. Coffee and cola predominate.

APPEARANCE - of course, black. NOSE - mostly bourbon. No stout scents. FLAVOR - so so. Not what I expected for a stout, not roasty, or deep flavor. Bourbon flavor comes through a bit.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and a hint of bourbon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and light bourbon with a smooth lingering dark chocolate finish.

Bottle. A decent aroma full of malt and coffee with a hint of chocolate. A dark burnt brown/blackish color with a great tan head that dissipates swiftly. Starts out with strong malt and coffee, then definitely gets some caramel/vanilla notes and finishes easy. Was a decent stout overall.

Tap. Amber pour with a big white head. Vanilla, American oak, caramel. Very oaky. Medium to light body. Too much oak for the body

Opaque black with a thin, light beige head. Aroma of chocolate and a little coffee. Flavor is sweet at first, with a coffee finish. Not bad.

One of the dankest stout not Stone. Aroma is non-indicative as the deep coffee aspect overwhelms other facets. As such, it does linger well after the last sip. Otherwise its drinkability resembles a dark ale meets light IPA. At 8 who can complain... Coffee lovers delight.
