"didn’t get too many of those aspects the brewer described above. a somewhat lacking amber blonde...not aroma-less, but less than par for the style. too much malt, not enough hops. jgb9348 (6189) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Clearish copper coloured body with a honey glow and a soapy, two centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, cardboard, some light sugars and not much else - very mild. Light-bodied; Sharp nutty flavour at first with some cardboard and a hint of toffee noticeable. Aftertaste shows some sweetness, a little bit of earth and mostly malt noticeable, but not much at all, very mild. Overall, a pretty substandard offering, but that was pretty much expected. Not really worth trying, unless you are from Hawai’i and can’t get great different beers very cheaply. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Wine Corner in Pai’a, Maui, Hawai’i on 02-March-2010 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 31-January-2013. jb (3211) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 13, 2010
rating hawaii gold on draft in kuaii brewed by hawaii nui brewery. Clear yellow, decent head, lacing. Grassy nose. Mild nutty body. Points for atmosphere, Kauai rocks. Birdiebeagle (958) - Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2009
Bottle Pours a clear copper with a decdent white head. The head has average lastingness and okay lacing. The aroma was of caramel, bread, and some molasses. Has a good carbonation. The taste was okay. Nothing really jumps out at you but it is a refreshimg beer. Has a light body. The texture was watery. The finish is on the weaker side with no real good aftertaste. AN okay beer but not one I would search out. jeremytoni (3058) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - JUL 6, 2009
From a bottle poured copper color with a fair amount of head. Spicy malty flavor with a lingering finish.

On tap at the Yard House, Waikiki. Listed as Hawaii Nui Golden. Clear gold with a thin white head. Light citrus nose, grapefruit rind and mild orange. Caramel flavors with a solid citrus rind zing, lightly spicy. Tasty. VertBaconStrips (2387) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - MAY 29, 2009
Thanks goes to my mom and dad for helping me destroy my liver. Bah. The pour filled the glass sides with and unbelieveable ammount of huge bubbles from top to bottom. No head was produced at all. After most of those had gone, the bubbs that made it to the top seemed to get stuck in some sort of weird oil slick - very strange indeed. What remained in the glass was a light gold beer that looked almost thick, I can’t describe it. Fresh sweet floral hops and some honey was all that was present. But, the beer did not taste gross or anything like that - dusty mild/medium hops, some mystery fruit and what I thought was cinammon (can’t be). Left a bit of an acric after taste that tried to hide, but that wasn’t until it warmed up. Drink cold! Seems made for chugging. m4rest88 (389) - Beverly Hills, California, USA - MAY 6, 2009
Pours with a gold hue, with a white head - lots of yeast, and funk in the nose. Yeasty taste, with hay and lots of grain.
Not the biggest fan of this brew. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 29, 2009
