Pours dark brown with a thick, fluffy tan head. Nose is bitter chocolate, sweet coconut, caramel, slight oakiness. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, toffee, toasted coconut, charcoal. Finish is semi dry, a little astringent. Medium to heavy body. Not bad, not blowing my mind though. The coconut is subtle, but it just needs perhaps a little more sweetness and body, and a more prominent oak flavor. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 2, 2015
Bottle from Mane Liquor. The base version of this beer is solid but this really does take it up to the next level. Seriously coconut driven stuff with an almost lamington feel to it with its roastiness and milk chocolate notes. Much chewier than the little one. Good stuff Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 16, 2015
For my money, an absolute stunner. A glass of inky black goodness. The minimal head was a point instantly forgiven upon smelling the wafting aroma of coconut rough. It also carries gentle coffee and cocoa nibs and that carries through in the flavour. It is full, silky and rewarding with complexity and an enduring finish. Probably the pick of the beers on tap at the Hop at the time. Lush. Capa (3435) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - SEP 2, 2014
#2000. Near black with a tan head. Toasty coconut, caramel malt, big chocolate, light booze, toasted malt. Finish is sweet coconut with a hint of bittersweet chocolate. Chewy, but medium body. Stellar brew. This was my favorite brew at Beervana, 2014.
