Poured from a growler into a pint glass. Red with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus and pine. Tastes sweet, but cut by hoppy bitterness.
Draft. Cloudy copper color. Thick, dense lace. Aroma of toasted nuts and a bit of raisin. Flavors of caramel, toffee, and orange juice. Old school American ale stuff done very well. anders37 (26137) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAR 27, 2017

Tap at Harry’s Hofbrau in Redwood City. Found the hops restrained and the malt a little cloying with the alcohol showing slightly through residual sugars.

Bottle at home. Pours clear dark amber with a large, frothy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy dank, herbal and woody hops with a cracker malt backbone. Flavor is heavy dank, sweaty sock, herbal and woody hops and bitterness with sweet cracker malt and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. dinkle50 (1465) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 11, 2016
Vibrant clear red pour with a slightly off white single finger head. Lace present. Aroma is slightly fruity, hops and pine, as well as a little marijuana. Light bodied. Big time pine, caramel and crackers. Caramel malt is very strong in this, but so is the marijuana like notes. Dank indeed. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - OCT 24, 2016
Bottle at home. It pours a reddish orange color with an off white head. The aroma is mostly peaches with some hints of grapefruit. Very fruity with some notes of rich caramel and pine. The flavor has more toasted malt, light sweet caramel, grape, peaches with hints of lightly floral/piney bitterness. Toasted malt in the finish lingers with the bitterness. Good. 22 ounce bottle purchased at The Davis Beer Shoppe. The aroma has some dank hop notes as well as a little cotton candy. Caramel malts come through after the hops dissipate. Light nuts and toffee, too. Transparent amber body with a small to medium cream-colored head. Starts with a bunch of earthy, dirty hop flavors. QUite bitter, actually. There’s a little caramel malt sweetness in the middle with some tannins. Finishes with more of the earthy hop flavor and some cotton candy hints, too. Quite hoppy, and quite bitter. A little much. 650ml bottle from phesterjau. Orange reddish pour with an off-white head leaving some lace. Aroma has tangy pine, citrus and sweet malts. Taste is of sweet caramel, tangy pine, bittersweet citric fruits, light stone fruits and some sweet red malts. The blend is solid, the body is medium, the carbonation is throughout and there is a slight alcohol presence. Finishes to the sweet side of that bitter-sweet scale. This is hoppy version of a classic American Strong ale. Sweeter than most as well. Tasty! 14.2
