I picked up this beer with high expectations coming from the fact they brew Citra. This beer did not disappoint. The flavor is full of juicy hop notes that is very smooth and goes down nicely. I still prefer Citra but this beer really proves that Kern River can hang with the best of them when it comes to DIPA’s

Nice gold pour, white head. Juicy hops, tropical fruit, grassy notes, resin in the nose. Flavor is so vibrant and fresh with fruity hops, citrus, resin, grassy, floral...just a beauty.

Super fresh bomber at Hunahpu’s Day 2012. Pours a hazy golden-orange amber color with a thin off-white film. Minimal lace spotting marks the glass. The nose shows a tropical fruit hop character hat reminds of citrus and pineapple, but there’s also a good amount of dank, catty notes. Malts suggest of semi-dry cereal grain. Flavors follow suit, well balanced, but pretty dank and catty, with secondary tropi-citrus fruit character. The palate is substantive, yet fairly well balanced. Carbonation is spot on. Pretty solid, but a bit overly dank for my tastes.

Wow aroma was huge on this one, very tropical, tons of hops, lots of mango, citrus, lime and pineapple. Appearance was orange very hazy with nice white head. Taste was like the aroma with mango and lime dominating but caramel malt was able to get through as well a little to much malt actually which kept me from giving it a perfect score. Mouthfeel was medium bodied finishes sticky with low bitterness. Overall this is one hell of a dipa one of the most fruity/tropical ipas I have ever had and its super delicious. I believe this was bottled on the 21st of Feb. so this was already two weeks old and I was skeptical as I am paranoid with ipas but I super glad I did the hunt and finally got it. This sure lives up to the hype.

Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours hazy light amber with a 3 finger foamy/frothy beige head. The nose is very fruity - mostly ripe light stone - peach/apricot. Full bodied. The flavor is very fruity/hoppy. With just a hint of caramel below. But enough to hold all this hop. With time the flavors reduce towards canned peach, then on to citrus rind. Really delectable.

Peach and mango overwhelm the nose - such a tropical fruity DIPA - more citrus on the taste, it tastes so much different than it smells... Really surprising. I would like a bit more bitterness up front, it is more of a finishing one that brings it a bit out of balance. Nice mouthfeel and carbonation. Kern made a delicious DIPA.. AGAIN!

Pours a rather cloudy golden yellow with mid-sized head. Strong citrusy aroma (almost smells like orange juice). Big hop flavor with citrus notes and an underlying sweetness. Nice bitter finish.

Out a Bottle. Pours cloudy orange, nice white head. Big aroma of pineapple, peach, melon and mango. Rich and malty. Slightly bitter.

Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Big grapefruit and summer fruit aroma. Grapefruit and summer fruit flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Nice bitterness. Grapefruit and sumemr fruit lingers with light caramel.

Reviewed from notes. Part of a package I received from a longstanding trading partner on BA. Thanks Daniel! Cloudy peach in color with a half fingers worth of off-white head. Head has a somewhat soapy appearance. The nose is primarily grapefruit and other citrus fruit with some hints of melon and pine. Nice nose on this guy, definitely living up to my expectations so far. Taste is a lot like the aroma, a lot of citrus fruit and pine. Compares favorably against the Alpine lineup. Medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation and a medium finish. Worthy of the hype, definitely among the best DIPA I’ve had....might go as far to say that I prefer this to the Citra DIPA.
