COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed for Pirlot, Pulderbos, as Christmas pendant to their "Kempisch Vuur". Pirlot stopped brewing Kerstvuur at De Proefbrouwerij after 2010, later vintages are brewed by Pirlot themselves and should be rated accordingly.

Alengrin (4923) - BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
Christmas tripel formerly made at Proef for Guy Pirlot. Thick, sticky, cream white head, peach blonde colour, equally hazy. Strong spicy and fruity aroma of orange, banana, sweet curry, tomato, white pepper, coriander, apple, paprika. Sweet malty onset, freshened by citrus, caramel, honeyish, very spicy with lots of coriander and other spices, dry finish with badly hidden, bit astringent alcohol and floral hops. Too spicy and too alcoholic to be really pleasing.

Bosskie (838) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 31, 2011
Brown hayish cloudy beer with a weak foamy head. No carbonation. Smells very much like gluhwein! Cinnamon, clove, brown cake smell with all the Christmas spices, with hints of fruit; plum, and a nice warm glowing alcoholic twangy fizzy sweetness. The taste is fleshy chocolaty, bit rotten, almost like some kind of beef roast. Acid bitter aftertaste with a liquor-like alcoholic feel. The fizzy spiciness lingers long on the palate.

Bottle, bought @ Delirium, Brussels.
[vintage 2005]
Pours pale amber with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma is sweet, slight cellar notes, caramel, liqourice, cloves, bread, pickled strawberries. Medium to high carbonation, fine dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is pretty lovely, caramel, Belgian sugar, softly vinious, plums, pine, red berries, oranges and tangerine. Just the slightest hint of cellar. Yum!

300ml bottle from glouglouburp. Hazy gold, plenty of floaties - large fizzy/frothy diminishing white head. Tart, borderline sour lemon aroma, background sweet fruity malt, mild yeast, middling alcohol. Taste is - aged fruitcake drenched in rum or gin - sweet, candyish, fruity, slightly funky - nice, really. Light, watery, undercarbonated, quick-finishing, slightly boozy and dry. Maybe aging a bit, but I quite liked the sourness juxtaposed with the candied fruit sweetness, and it really didnt seem like 9%

Lubiere (13286) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2011
2008 vintage. An amber ale with floaties and a thick collapsing white head. In aroma, sweet maderized malt with orange peels, light doughy characted, signs of age. In mouth, a smooth sweet honey malt with musty notes, curacao, oxidized but still good. Bieropholie import.
