Keg at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 4 - London. Pours clear amber-brown and a foamy-creamy tan head. Lovely beer, with light coffee character, dark dried fruits, light leather and earth, burnt toffee. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty good balance in the ending with further notes of toffee, toasted bread, dark fruits, bitter dirt. Good one.

In short: A thin characterless black beer. Meh.
How: Tap at brewpub.
The look: Clear golden body topped by a persistent off-white head.
In long: The timid nose is a bit roasted with also some mild flowery notes. Body is on the thin side, a medium carbonation, typical mouthfeel for an extra-clean thin thirst ale. Taste is uninteresting. There is some watered-down toffee along, a tiny bit of roast, some Dr Pepper soda, some perfumy-flowery hops. The beer has no corpulence, no character, it feels too industrial clean. I cant give it a bad score because it is drinkable, but it is boringly drinkable, I give beers like this one a 50% score in all categories. If I was more religious, every day I would wake up and thank god for all beers not brewed not brewed by The Commons Brewery.

Keg at GBBF 14, day 4, 15/08/14. Black with a well appointed tan covering that retains well. Nose is light roast, grain, toffee, light cocoa rub. Taste comprises roast malt, dark toffee, cocoa rinse. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light roasty vibes in the closure. Ok porter, bit 1D, not one Id rush back to!

Bonita espuma que dura poco. El aroma es a cereal hmedo. El sabor es como una coca cola sin gas un poco ahumada o torrefacta. Muy poco recomendable.

Clear dark red - brown beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Light palate, dry and crispy. Whisper of dark malts and dark fruits. Very subtle malt cream. Airy semi dry finish. Another fresh air beer from this brewer.

GBBF Day 4. Keg? Almost clear deep brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light and crisp. Very mild dark malts. Tangy fruits, cocoa powder and molasses. Light crisp finish. All right.
