This year’s version is aged in whiskey barrels and is a 50/50 blend of cold smoke and a stout. 7.1 abv. Dark color with a tart nose. Taste is roasty then mildly sour. Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - FEB 1, 2012
Pint at Myrtle. Light hazy amber, frothy beige head. Aroma of tart fruit-raspberry, blackberry, along with pineapple, wood and toffee. Taste was mildly sour, more funky, more hop presence than in most beers like this, but I did read that this was an unintentional souring that turned out to still be a good beer. Light bitter finish, light woody flavor.
