COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Don't let its looks deceive you. Though it may resemble a porter or a stout, this is a light bodied ale with a pleasant hint of molasses. Don't be afraid of the dark.

Pours a dark brown-black, with a bit of creamy, white head. Aroma of roasted grain and malt. Flavor was very roasty, with some chocolate and even some licorice for good measure. Good, but could be better.

12oz can. The pour gives the appearance of a cola, both in color and the consistency of the head. Dry biscuit aroma with some hints of brown sugar. Light tones of chocolate and roasted malts in the flavor. Very light body with watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and easy drinking, just dont go in with the anticipation of a complex beer and youll be fine.

Badass schwartbier. Nice smooth malty palate but just a delicious beer. On point for the style

Straight for a can at the Varsity Theater for the Divine Fits show. Was billed as the best from Keweenaw by the bartender to me and I tend to agree after having their 4 most popular. Dark and molasses.

On draft @ Old Dog Tavern. Pours a opaque black, appears to have very little carbonation. Taste is bland, quite thin and watery with some sweet taste and black licorice. Not too much there. Was pretty happy when this was finished.

Can from my buddy Steve - thanks, hoss! Nice cola-looking pour, decent lacing and overall gives the appearance of robustness. Nose, however, starts to undercut that impression quickly, as its mostly faded chocolate. Pleasant enough mouthfeel, but theres not much of anything happening taste-wise. No bite, no depth to the dark flavors, just a mealy core with bland chocolate everywhere. Boring, almost like youre not drinking beer.

Draft. Dark (black) color, small tan head. Found the flavor to be very minimal considering the color of the beer. Sweet edges, molasses flavors. Not a favorite.

Draft little to no head. Little aroma. Light on the palate with a crisp finish. --- Dark Son Brewing
