33 cl bottle at home. Pours a clear red-brown colour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is of chocolate, malt and boozy stewed fruit. Taste is sweet to start with a slight bitterness. Lots of rich fruitiness, maltiness and some more booze on the palate, almost sherry-like. Pretty good, but a bit heavyweight for me.

deanso (10178) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - JAN 15, 2015
33cl bottle from Bier Paleis. Thin creamy off white head. Clear deep burgundy pour. Lots of sweet caramel in the aftertaste.

Billigste Anbrauung par excellance, die vor Getreide nur so strotzt. Dabei recht alkohollastig und stark mit dem Augenmerk aufs Knallen. Keine Nuancen, keine Liebe, nur hingeklatscht.

McTapps (6941) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2014
Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer has got a deep dark brown colour with an steady low head and medium to smooth body. Aroma of Belgian yeast and malt, followed by a unpleasant taste of strong Belgian yeast, malt, wheat, bread, cake and caramel. Hints of flowers and herbs. The high alcohol content is clearly tasteable and ruins the beer. Didn’t really like it.

berntholer (1617) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 10, 2014
creamy beige head that leaves some lacing. brown colour. aroma of dried fruits, dates, raisins, bit metallic, candysugar, quad esters, bit boozy, sweet. taste like aroma with a long sweet aftertaste and a bit bitter from roasted malts. medium body and carbonation. dobbel-trippel = quad? :) bottle 33 cl

Bicky (13) - Waregem, BELGIUM - OCT 20, 2014
Dark copper color with a foam nice and thick. Smells like metal, some chocolate malts and a little bit burned afther a while you also got some banana. It has a nice cholate teast, a bit of alcohol, some metal and a bit bitter. Nice round but nog heavy teaste.

Alengrin (5554) - BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2014 The brown Keyte, launched in 2007, with contradictory name as dubbel should indeed be dark but tripel is pale by definition. Also tasted as Strandjuttersbier Mong De Vos, which is apparently the same thing. Cream white but quickly dissolving head, dark wine-red colour. Dark fruity aroma, caramel, lots of DMS (red cabbage), fresh mushrooms, liquorice, cinnamon, iron, bark; sweet taste, candied fruit, port- and sherry-like touches, grape, thick maltiness, creamy mouthfeel, some spiciness, light hoppiness in the finish, insufficient to balance out the initial candi syrupy sweetness. I hate DMS and that is what ruined this for me.
