500ml PET bottle. Pours transparent red-brown with a small beige head that fizzes away in seconds. Aroma is black bread, syrup, paper. Taste is sweet, honey, grain, black bread. Quite unusual compared to the other kvasses I’ve tried, and not bad, considering it’s made by Baltika.

suurjuust (3612) - ESTONIA - DEC 1, 2015
Dark reddish-brown, very fizzy. Nose is very bready, so is the flavor, but with grainy sourness and a caramel edge and some grain sourness. Not bad.

andrepintado (3558) - Lisbon, PORTUGAL - JAN 22, 2014
50cl can from mix markt, lisbon. Ok, this is quite a moment, my first kvass ever. Let me breathe before I taste this. Color is very dark copper to black. Head is very thin. Carbonation is not that high. Taste is medium sweet and salty. Aroma is rye, caramel, sugar, bread and butter toast (jeeeeezzz).

Derbeth (1003) - Kraków, POLAND - OCT 13, 2013
Aroma of rye bread, but not very intensive. Minimal head. Lightly sour, light sweetness. A bit watery. Not bad, but a bit disappointing compared to for example Khlebny Krai 7 Zlakov - too watery, too sour, aroma is not very rich. PET bottle, expiry date October 18, 2013.

Rune (13206) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 3, 2013
500ml bottle, 1.8 % abv, from the store that sells East-European beers in Rethymno, Crete. Beige head. Slightly cloudy brown coloured body. Smell of sweet malt and bread. Sweet malty taste with the support of figs and raisin. Soft drink impression. Refreshing, but a tad too sweet (hotel room 13.09.2013).

gunnar (9333) - Sandnes, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2013
Bottle from supermarket in Rethymnon. Pours clear brownish with a layer of bubbles on top. Aroma of syrup, sweet, some raisins. Taste is very sweet cloyingly, mash and malts, no thanks, disgusting.

AcctError96987 (3723) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 22, 2012
I shared a can of this with drabmuh at my house last Sunday. Thanks Matt! This was one of the coolest, most thoughtful, worst tasting beer gifts I have yet received. The appearance is brown with a thin head that quickly fades, leaving no lacing. The aroma is sweet malts with sugary caramels. The taste is just overbearing. Ridiculously sweet and instantly cloying, I just couldn’t get more than a few ounces down. It was really cool to try a kvass for the first time, but I did not find this beer, or perhaps even this style, to my liking.

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - NOV 4, 2011
Canned (thanks CueSheet). Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is sweet malts, some caramel, raisins and mild smoke. Flavour is quite much the same.

gnoff (10713) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2011
Bottle at Haket during Gothenburg Beer Festival 2011
Sampled on Friday September 2, 2011
Clear brown color, tan head. sweet sirupy scent. Sweet raissin taste. Smooth mouthfeel, no bitterness.
Some at the festival cursed this and called it disgusting, I mainly call it sweet, like liquid raissins, even I with my sweet tooth couldn’t drink too much of this one, but for sipping it wasn’t bad at all!
