"The Nepalese and British people have long enjoyed a unique friendship epitomised by the noble Ghurka Regiments of the British Army. Their famous fighting knife lends its name to this spectacular beer. Its creation is the harmonious product of original Nepalese recipes and the brewing traditions of J.W.Lees one of Britain's oldest Independent Breweries. working in partnership Manhanta Sherestha a native of Katmandu and Head Brewer Giles Dennis have striven to capture the essence of Nepalese taste and culture in this superbly smooth premium beer."

TBone (18227) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 13, 2011
Bottled 330ml (K-Kamppi, ABV 4.7%, BB 10/2011)
Golden clear color, medium-sized white head. Nose starts with hayish, cannabis like aroma, then metal, cardboard and sweetish maltyness. Light to medium bodied. Very expected flavor: harsh, a bit fruity maltyness with strong metallic presence, low bitterness. Similar to Chinese or some Indian lagers. Ice cold I could use this with Nepalese food, otherwise totally useless.

kalervo (1032) - FINLAND - APR 7, 2011
Thin and non-unique pale lager. Fresh and a bit bitter, not special at all.

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 3, 2011
[email protected] (thanks hanniku!). Golden colour, smal white head. Aroma is bready malts, some mild fruits, grass as well as hay. Flavour is rather similar. Clean, but very boring.

mile (4052) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 13, 2011
Bottle. Golden, small and fully diminishing head. Light sweetish malty aroma, light caramel and faint hoppyness. Body is light, malty and sweetish flavor, faint grassy hoppyness. Finish is short, malty and lightly sweetish, alcohol. Thin-bodied lager, alcohol in the finish.

omhper (25744) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 8, 2011
Bottled, thanks Hanniku! Pale golden, no head. Bready aroma. Dryish and light bodied with some grassy hops. Salty finish with light resiny bitterness. A reasonable pilsnerish lager.

Probably a little biased since I’ve just drunk a bottle but this has gotta be one of the best beers I’ve tried. Compares along side Fiji Gold. Need to locate more ...

Although the only Nepalese roots from this beer isthe owner of the brand it certainly is a gain for the British beer market.
