Bottle, bought @ Osteria Sottirova 23, Verona. Pours clear dark chestnut with a small, frothy, beige head. Aroma has sweet liqourice, light roasted, mild chocolate. High carbonation, rather thin and watery mouthfeel. Flavour is quite sweet, some brown sugar, liqourice and roasted malts. Quite uninteresting. ogivlado (7764) - Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 16, 2009
Bottled 500ml. -Bought at Euro Spin, Maribor. Dark brown coloured, medium sized off-white head, light roasty nose. The taste is huge letdown; sweet malty, strong metallic and faint fruity with unpleasant rusty notes. Hardly drinkable. This Devil is one of the worst dark beers I’ve ever tried if not the worst. larsga (7508) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 30, 2009
Brown medium coarseish head. Dark red barely translucent body. Light plummy licorice aroma. Dry roasty plummy papery taste with chocolatey notes. Mid-bodied. Dry papery roasty licorice aftertaste with grassy notes. Quite nice, but could use more body. Ɛ.5l bottle from KnutAlbert. Listed as "Kiefer Black Devil" in my notebook.) Bottle from a discount shop in Sardinia.
Caramael aroma. Almost black with a red tinge. Thin and watery, rather weet. Gets better as it wars up, revealing coffee and liquorice.

Kiefer Bräu Black Devil Birra Scura actually. The bottle says it’s brewed at Pedavena, so why is it here? I have to look into this. Brought by ogivlado from Slovenia and shared with me (thanks!)SHIG (4956) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Poured a murky black (dark brown). Big-medium off white thick head going away at a medium pace. Light roasty malty nose, maybe some hop. Distinctly metallic taste, roasty and rusty. Light. Oooooh I get iiiit. Devil. Metal. Yeah. This is as much black metal as umm Mayhem or something. Aaaanywayy... some nut (maybe pistacchio) in the taste and very light roasty bitterness int he aftertaste. There’s something underneath all that metal but I guess this is too grim and frostbitten for it to show.
Tap: Poured a deep black oil color with a tan cream head. Aroma is dark malts and some sweet grass. Taste is a dry chalky stout not very dunkel like this is categorized. OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 10, 2009
0.5 L bottle kindly shared by KnutAlbert. A tanned cream head over a near black, ruby shaded body. Sweet licorice, milk-chocolate and dark fruits on the nose. Dryish cocoa flavor. Some fruitiness and a note of toasted dark malts. Surprisingly light-bodied. Feels a bit diluted in the mouth. Otherwise a fairly decent Dunkel, with good drinkability. rickgordon (3874) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 21, 2012
Dark brown colour. "Pale" aroma like weak coffee. Light malty flavour with black malt reminiscent of coffee. Low bitterness. Light bodied. ElDesmadre (3626) - Mikołów, POLAND - JUN 17, 2014
Bottle. Tart notes and apple juice in the aroma, while the taste is tartish, watery, licorice-laden and metallic. Strange brew but drinkable after all.
