Kura means sake-brewery, and Shizuku is the first run of sake. Kurashizuku’s flavor, color and fragrance are enriched by the careful first steaming and pressing of its rice. Often called "antique" sake, Kurashizuku is Usu-Nigori, i.e. sake that has some few sake yeast, rice and koji in the bottle while the bulk remains behind on the filtering cloth as Sake-Kasu ("cake").

Appearance is a slightly hazy pale yellow. Aroma is a bit of solvent some citrus rice and not entirely Pleasant. Maybe it’s an acquired appreciation. Flavor is similar to nose with a long finish. Body isn’t bad.

Echon (564) - Århus, DENMARK - JUN 13, 2016
Looks almost like water. Medium-bodied with sparkling carbonation. Boozy aroma with notes of vinegar. Spicy flavour with notes of vinegar, and a sweet taste with no bitterness. Warming alcohol. Overall, a rather odd sensation. This is the first sake I have ever tried. Maybe it goes well with sushi.

Dogbrick (13789) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 16, 2015
Bottle at Winking Lizard. Pours a slightly milky colorless/white with a minimal head and sparse legs on the glass. Aroma of rice, fruit and spice. Full-bodied and boozy with flavors of rice, citrus and mild spice. The finish is fruity with a citrus and alcohol aftertaste. Pretty average overall.

Beer5000 (6736) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 27, 2015
330 ml bottle. Unclear oily, yellow body without any head. Aroma is relatively fruity with marzipan, rice and a hint of anise. Flavor is sweet, fruity, hint of anise and quite smooth. Strong body and medium aftertaste. Quite OK, but feels a bit boozy.

allmyvinyl (11026) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 8, 2014
Bottle at Craig’s. Pours clear. I’m not really a big fan of sake. Maybe a touch of anise? Rice wine.
