Sample at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with a medium thick foamy tan head that diminishes slowly to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Light-bodied with a roasty character of coffee and malt, plus some hops and sweet chocolate in the background. The finish is sweet with a bready malt and chocolate aftertaste. A nice brown hued porter with coffee overtones. Doesn’t taste like 6.1% at all. There is some chocolate taste lurking there but this is a well balanced brew that isn’t thin and doesn’t knock you over either. EEMan (3) - - JUL 16, 2012 does not count
I thought this was a very good porter. Nice appearance and aroma. It had a very smooth feeling going down as well. I had it on tap.
