Thanks Sean for sending.
This was poured into a mini-snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with no head nor lacing.
The smell had a huge roasted coffee bean up front with ample amounts of cocoa and then a slice of vanilla sweetness to heighten a light bourbon flavor.
The taste was roasty and sweet through vanilla, cocoa and coffee bean. It starts to get a tad woody and brings in to combine in the aftertaste delicately. A slightly sticky finish runs about nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with the subtle roasty qualities laying across my tongue in a really nice fashion.
Overall, foreign/export stout - yes and on top of it, bourbon barreled, even better, of course I’d have it again. jdb288 (584) - Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA - DEC 4, 2014
Bottle thanks to my trade buddy up in AK (thanks furthur!). Pours brown/black with little head. Faint vanilla and cocoa in the nose. Carries through into the taste with a good amount of oak character. Smooth and clean finish. Enjoyed it. Duchammer (186) - Eagle river, Alaska, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Poured jet black with tan head. Nice subtle aroma malt pruny oak and vanilla. Nice balance malt roast with oak leads into a dry finish. Alcohol is really hidden. Nice job douglas88 (9894) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 8, 2014
Small bottle. Pours a jet black color with a medium tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, some oak and cherry. The flavor is woody, super roasyty, metallic, a bit of chewy sweetness, tobacco. Bready. Good. AmEricanbrew (7080) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JAN 3, 2014

Bottle. Dark brown with a dense tan head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, oak, fruity yeast esters and coffee. Flavor is boozy bourbon and oak with plenty of chocolate and light roasted malt. Medium to full body with prickly carbonation. Really good beer, great oak and bourbon character with a fantastic base beer. Super flavorful yet still has great drinkability. furthur (1264) - Eagle River, Alaska, USA - SEP 23, 2013
My first rating but this beer needs more ratings! Head a little light, color a rich coffee black. Aromas of honey and caramel. Taste of caremel, coffee and lightly honey or floral. Hops are there but do not dominate. Finish is, I swear, honey, but don’t take that to mean overly sweet. I think the balance is good, the hops is there. The alcohol is there too, but this is a single serving bottle. Bubbles very fine, smooth and viscous in the mouth. Overall, I think a really fine beer. Bottle won at GNHC raffle: Poured a black with red edges, finger light brown colored head. Aroma has strong oak with sweet malt. Nice blend of vanilla and malt, hint of dark chocolate.
