UPDATED: SEP 13, 2008 Bottle from the Utah State Store. Pours a clear golden hue with a medium white head that goes down quite quickly. The aroma is sweet malts and some hops. The flavor is dominated by both a sweet malt and some bitter metallic and hop flavors. Not horrible. The bitter aftertaste seems more like aspirin than hops though.

Bottle. Pours a light yellow with tons of carbonation. Aroma is skunk, grass and malts. Taste is like water not that complex. Has a light bitter taste to it. A pretty pour beer

330 mL bottle from LCBO. Opened the bottle to a strong, skunky aroma. The pour was a light yellow color, with a weak head. Given the aroma, the flavor was surprising weak. A bit of hops, with little but a sour after taste. Not a great beer.

I find it indeed sad that the world’s most imitated beer is the American pale lager. With that said, this beer has the characteristics of most pale lagers. However, its aroma is affected by earthy hops. The appearance is yellow/gold, with a white head. Its flavor has a malt sweetness, with some hops thrown in (this by itself is a departure from other pale lagers like Bud). The palate is slightly sour, with a slight hoppyness. Overall, ok for what it is.

Bomber. Pours a pale fizzy yellow with a half inch white head and spotty lacing. Nose is a bit skunky with sweet grain and grassy hops. Taste is fruity and sweet with a some faint hops in the finish. Lighter mouth feel. Not horrible.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2008 Bottle (US version, contract-brewed in Saratoga Springs, NY). Aroma is grainy, lightly sweet, with some light fruit. Flavor is similar, with a bit more light fruit, a bit of tartness from the almost seltzery carbonation, and a hint of hops in the finish. Not bad at all for the style.

Bottle. Thin, with a light trace of hops. That’s really all I can say about it, meh. Wasn’t offensive by any means at least.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of the 6 pack a friend brought to a beer tasting. Hmmmm. Pours a light golden hue with a prominent bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. Aromas are largely skunky, with touches of sweet malts. Taste is similar, with the skunk more muted. A decent lager, I guess. My friend told me that this is much better in India than in a bottle not in India. I believe him. Middle of the road macro-ish lager.

Bottle, local Indian. Skunky aroma. Required to help a hot curry go down. A bit pish.
