330 ml gold can bought at Market Place by Jasons at K11, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Piss-like golden yellow colour; Half finger head and white foam which last for 40 seconds; Minimal lacing with active carbonation; Pungent smell of malt with rice grains, corn and slight grass; Mid to light sweet taste of light malt, with corn, light rice, sugar, soda water, band aid, faint wet cardboard, trace of citrus and grass; Very light body, watery palate;
Mouth feel is sweet corn and grains in soda water background, with detectable but not quite annoying band aid; Hoppiness is very slight grassy smell, hint of citrus and grass taste, and almost zero bitterness;
Wet after taste, easy and quite sweet to mouth.
Comments: This one is slightly better than the green can Kingway 11°, but that doesn’t said much. It epitomizes Kingway’s image as Southern China’s major swill maker: beer-water base with minimal malt taste and loaded with adjunct and sweetness. Good for mindless chug under 30°C-plus hot Summer day in Hong Kong, but nothing more.
