Bottle from Fenakroken. Dark brown with a healthy head. Caramel and chocolate aroma. Dry chocolate flavours throughout. A bit watery texture, but overall a very good brown ale. Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 5, 2011
Some samples from a 0.75l bottle @ Kai-Sindre’s (InBreak) wedding. This one pours a deep almost murky brown body with a lasting light tanned creamy head. Aroma has lots of dry cocoa, some chocolate malts and it’s lightly sweet. Really nice actually. Lively carbonation, it has a thin and somewhat watery mouthfeel and it’s quite light-bodied. Flavors are also dominated by that dry chocolate/cocoa found in the aroma, light yeast and it ends with some nice mild nutty flavors. Dry and kinda lasting aftertaste. Yeah, I quite liked this one, although it’s not your "standard" Christmas ale. Did suffer a bit on the palate because of only the ABV 4.7%, so I’m really looking forward to trying it’s big brother! fellebag (1478) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 13, 2012
75cl bottle. Pours a small white head. Raw natural red brown color. Barely carbonated. Aroma of dark syrup, raisins, hint of pear. Taste of grain, cookies, touch of earth.

750 ml bottle. Slightly unclear reddish brown body with a dense beige head. Aroma has malt, caramel, dry fruit and cellar notes. Flavor is a bit mild malty, hint of caramel, toast and moderate bitterness. Medium body and moderate aftertaste. Decent, but a bit straight forward British brown ale/bitter style ale. visionthing (5363) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 10, 2013
75cl bottle from Meny Kolsås. Pours caramel brown to amber with an off-white head. Malty aroma with fruity and mildly bready and roasty notes, moderate caramel. Medium sweet with mild roasty flavours and a nice bitterness in the finish. Easy to drink and quite flavourful. One of the nicest shop strenght Christmas beers in Norway in my opinion.

Aroma of brown malts, caramel, apple’ish hops, berries, spices and dust.
Fawn big head, deep amber-brown-red body, somewhat hazy, and particles. Lacing; some fields.
Tastes spicy malts, hops, roasted malts, dark bread, roasted raisins, dark caramel notes all over the place.
Finishes malty with spices, juniper, oak - a fine "brown" malty ale’ish aftertaste. Normal feel, quite good body. Overall nice and good brew. Good for heavy yuletide dishes.

On bottle from Ica Hasle, bb date 20710/2016. Brown color, some offwhite foam- quite low carbonation. Medium aroma intensity; malt, hops, dried fruits, slightly roasted notes. Medium body & complexity. Some immediate sweetness, but the following bitterness balances well. Enjoyable Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - FEB 6, 2017

Aroma has sweetish caramel malts, taste has lots of caramel and some metallic malt notes. Finish is malty with caramel and some toffee notes!
750 ml bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. Dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Fairly nice aroma, moderately spicy notes, also notes of brown malts and leather. Flavour of brown malts and brown sugar (without being very sweet), moderate hops. An okay brown ale! KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 17, 2011
Bottle. A gusher. Coffee, caramel, cocoa and Christmas spices. Nice balance, but lacks a little depth and body.
