COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Skoddehav (Mist) is our alternative "misty" IPA, lighter in colour than our regular brand. Normally IPAs use English or American indigenous yeasts, but Skoddehav uses our Belgian Trappist High Gravity variant. Its special feature is the dry ale that results, which nevertheless has a touch of sweetness. The recipe features Pilsner, wheat and oat malts. Hops are a blend of two aromatic varieties, Cascade and Citra. Skoddehav emerges as a pale, refreshing ale with light body, balanced yeast imprint and a strong, fresh hoppy aroma. An excellent choice for spicy Asian seafood dishes, chicken and pork.
Malt: Pilsner malt, wheat malt and oat malt.
Hops: Citra and Cascade.
Yeast: Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity

Sampled from tap at ’Craftbeer Corner Coeln’. Clear, golden yellow with a white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, moderately yeasty-spicy and a bit grassy aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, pear and some clove. Sweetish, slightly bitter, fruity-grassy and moderately yeasty-spicy taste of pineapple, passion fruit, pear, lemongrass and some clove, followed by a medium long, rather dry-bitter, yeasty-spicy and a bit grassy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle from Systembolaget Vara, Sweden. Best before 08082017 so I quess this is about 4 months old as the label says sustainable for 1 year. Pours golden with a fizzy white foam. Aroma citric hops, mainly citrus but also some clementine, grapefruit and pine. Some yeastiness also pushing through. Light mouthfeel. Quite dry though some residual sweetness can be found. The hoppy characters are less apparent when drinking and instead there are some spiciness from the yeast dominating. Somewhat bitter finish. I like this style combining the IPA with belgian yeast and this is a fair good example though I believe I would enjoyed a fresher bottle more!
