COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Devil’s Backbone we’re calling a Northern Amber Ale. It’s fuller bodied and fuller flavoured like a mellow autumnal day with a hint of chocolate thrown in.

Handsy11 (25) - IRELAND - JUN 12, 2014
- 500ml bottle - Colour: deep red - Head: off-white bubbly head when poured which mostly disappears leaving a thin layer of bubbles - Aroma: fresh coffee aroma - Taste & Texture: lightly gassy, tangy taste with hint of coffee - Verdict: Very enjoyable, would drink again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.2
stravale (3145) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - MAY 19, 2014
Keg @ Furey’s Bar, Sligo [140514]

Dark amber, hazy, thin white head

Aroma of soft cereal, some hay

Taste of sweet caramel malts, cereal, dab of bitter chocolate which I don’t think quite works in this, some orange zest, soft fruity malts

Palate - soft carb, medium body, fairly oily. Finish as main flavour

Overall - More interesting than other Irish amber ales I’ve tried even if a bit unbalanced in flavour
