Tasty and with a light fragrant. Start with a light touch of sweet Miso that is overwhelmed by bitterness over growing.

maekchu (4054) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUL 21, 2017
Kind of a novelty act, I suppose. Some umami, soy-like aroma, with slightly rich fruit, maybe plums and raisins. Medium dark brown, tan head. Light notes of dark fruits and, again. A bit of the umami from the miso. Just a little salty. Thin-medium body. Interesting and unusual, but not terribly like a lager.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’ place. Thanks Naama. Hazy amber. Malt, caramel, miso, sweetish, a bit of umami, slightly bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.

faroeviking (11211) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - MAR 4, 2017
Botella. Dark brown colour. Sweet toasty malty caramel aroma. Flavour is sweet with toasty malt and caramel along with some miso and dark fruit.

Bottle at Takumi Craft Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky medium reddish brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is resin hop, treacle, light fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a smooth malty yeast light resin hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Copper pour with a thin pale tan head. Toasty, slight toffee aromas; slightly winey, caramel taste cut with a bit of salt. Not bad

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy amber color. Soil, beans, caramel, moderately sweet. I don’t see the point.

330ml bottle, pours a reddish copper colour. Nose of bubble gum and classic lager notes. Flavour is lightly raisin, dark matly, and even spiced on top of a dark lager base. I’d say this is interesting.

Bottle - Caramel and some sweetness. Clear dark gold with a decent white head. Light caramel and a nice light finish. Not bad.

mcberko (18949) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 27, 2016
330mL bottle, pours a hazy bright red amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out the miso notes upfront, with lots of bubblegum, some herbal notes, and toasted bread. Flavour is sweeter than I expected from the nose, with toasted caramel and bready notes, maybe a little bubblegum. Not getting any of the miso notes. Pretty solid, if unremarkable beer.

2.7
Oakes (18756) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 27, 2016
Has a nice light brown colour, though not much head. The aroma is mostly caramelly, not overly complex. Very light body. Touch of red miso character though it is a bit understated, lends a little bit of umami. The thin palate lets me down - it could really use from more sweetness to pull the unique character across the palate.
