500ml Bottle in Dotonburi area of Osaka, Japan (¥280):
Very much a basic pale lager with the usual corn & maize adjuncts coming through with touches of maize & rice not far behind. There was a faint sweetness to this one at points & I managed to get some hay & grassy hops further on but there wasn't a whole lot to this beer & it's one that I could have lived without trying.

Draft at momo. Typical draft Japanese lager. LIght and slightly sweet. Wheaty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one I actually don’t mind that much. Classic has a little bit of malt sweetness and a tad of hop bitterness. Not really offensive. Decent really.

Sweet malt, apple, sugar, corn syrup, grass, very thin body, empty finish. Probably a touch below the normal version and much more boring and milder than their Ichiban Shibori.

Een flauw Japans biertje, precies cara-pils. Niet echt lekker dus, ook geen schuimkraag.

Tastes just a bit better than the beers it usually sits next to on the shelf, but has less alcohol. Perfect for some afternoon.

Can at Aso Backpackers. Pours a clear golden with a diminishing white head. Dry with some grassy hops notes. Tiny hints of metals. Medium to light bodied. Bitter, grass finish.

GoufCustom (2400) - HONG KONG - JUL 9, 2014

500 ml can bought at 7-Eleven in Metropolis Plaza in Sheung Shui.

Golden yellow colour; Less than one-quarter finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; moderate sticky lacing and notable slight carbonation; Very pungent smell of malt as soon as it was popped, with soaked urinal, corn, grains, faint floral, bread, light yeast, lemon and smelly grass; Close to light sweet taste of light malt, with strong rice, light sourness, very light wet cardboard, light bread, biscuits, lemon, quite strong bitter hops and grass; Close to Light body, thin, bitter and quite sour palate; Mouth feel is adjunct-thinned macro Pale: light maltyness is quite good, rice is strong but smooth, wet paper is slight. Fair breadyness and strong hops, yet the unwanted sour taste (possibly infected) ruins it all. Doh!… Hoppiness is faint floral, strong lemon and male toilet grass in nose. Very strong lemon, quite strong bitter hops and grass taste. Bitterness is really strong, almost German Pils level for a lasting, really astringent finish; Fairly dry after taste, Bitter and sour to mouth.

Comments: An re-enactment of Kirin’s old-style release, but it all went horribly wrong: pungent toilet grass smell, rice-crazy body, wet paper, infected sourness, and very harsh hopppiness. Modern drain pours from a bygone era. Geeees!

Clear yellow appearance, medium head. Malty, grainy, sweet. Refreshing but plain Pale lager style beer.

JaKeAFC (1348) - ITALY - JUN 29, 2014
50 cl can from a 7-11 in Hong Kong. Yellow color, average white head. Aroma is pretty good, actually a real lager, grainy with a proper hops balance. Taste sweetish with a decent bitter finish, light bodied and highly carbonated, similar to average EU lagers, and hence being a 4.5 it does have some flavour.
