Sigmund (7315) - Tau, NORWAY - JUN 13, 2007
330 ml bottle, bought in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.0%. Brewed by "Wells & Youngs Brewing Co. Ltd., Bedford, UK for and under license from Kirin Brewery Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan". Website www.kirineurope.com . Crystal clear very pale golden colour, large and lingering head. Fairly strong sweetish fruity and flowery aroma, notes of artificial candy, hints of grass and honey. Fairly bland and dry flavour but not offensive, very moderate hops. Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Not very interesting.

Lumpy (1802) - Carrollton, Texas, USA - JUN 10, 2007
Thin, not very flavorful, very light skunk and adjunct, foamy, clean. Would probably be a total drain pour had it not been accompanied by a bowl of red curry soup.

From a can. Pours a nice golden colour with a thin white head that quickly dissipates. Heavily carbonated, so big bubbles form on the side of the glass and then pop up to the surface whilst the head lasts. Flavour from the can is terrible; aluminium dominates the taste and turns a good bitter beer into a metallic tang that conveys no pleasure to the drinker. Palate is fizzy pop, unpleasantly thin. Overall: good when on tap, in a can its crap.

TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 9, 2007
Bottle, poured a pale gold with a lot of carbonation and a foamy white head. A grainy malt aroma, a bit skunkish. The palate was not as dry as I expected (or as I find with other Japanese beers), or as hoppy. A little bland on the flavour side, but not as offensive as I find most lagers.

This overly carbonated beer smells of faint honey and old skunk. Gold body with faint head. Stale grain taste with old honey. Metallic aftertaste.

Bottle. Rice and grain in the aroma. Almost neutral flavor, maybe a hint of hopbitterness in the aftertaste, but dont expect too much of it. Clean and boring.
