Another light lager. Indistinquished. Would give me a headache if I had more than one. Decent with sushi but I bet a nice pale ale would be better. Too bad most sushi places don’t serve micro brews.

Beer had a pretty neutral taste to it, with a little bite at the end. Enjoyable enough to have with dinner.

The sample I has was bottled, brewed by Charles Wells of Bedford England. Had a very clean taste with high carbonation. Finish to me is bitter, not a bad beer really.

Just like the Kirin lager this is a very average pale lager, basically your run-of-the-mill lager beer, but still better than Bud or Coors, and this goes pretty well with sushi, mainly because this has pretty neutral flavors, corn & rice in the nose & flavors, slight hint of hops toward the finish

There aren’t many times that I can’t even finish the pint. I left this crap in the glass. Stay away.

"Ichiban" means "number one" in Japanese - a bit of a pretentious name for a beer that is really more mediocre than outstanding. Not a bad beer, just average.

Bottled. Clear, almost golden beer with a small white head. The aroma is weak, with just some fruity notes. The flavor is weak as well, with some fruityness, hops, grass and malty hints. Medium body and a hop-fruity finish. Could’ve used a lot more of everything. (070106)

Botlle 0.33L. Clear yellow body (very pale) with a small, fizzy, white head, fully diminishing with no lacing. Aroma is very faint with some sweet notes and some herbal hints of hops. Flavour is somehow bitter-sweet, but very attenuated: watery. Light body with a watery structure; lively carbonation and light metallic feeling in the finish. Not satisfactory; watery.

Bottle. Pours yellow with a small head. This beer always tastes skunky to me and I’ve had multiple bottles and they are fresh so something is not right there. Pretty watery and flavorless. Could be somewhat refreshing if it weren’t so skunky.

Rater-friendly 135ml can. Unnecessarily large and frothy head. Always scary, because you know it’s unnatural. Clear yellow color, VERY light. Pretty weak aroma of corn, grass, and a bit of hops, and some mysterious sweetness. Strangely sour, yet slightly bittersweet flavors. Vaguely interesting, but still so much like any other macro-brewed pale lager, that it’s just not worth drinking unless there are no other options.
