UPDATED: JUN 6, 2008 330ml bottle. Another Oriental beer, another weak, watery beer...in my experience the two are almost synonymous. Would have to agree with several other reviewers that it’s better than most in it’s class, but that’s not saying much. The best thing I could say is that it’s light, and refreshing.

(bottle)- Poured this into a dimpled mug. Great creamy head. Very pure yellow appearance, one of the yellowest ive seen. The taste has some fruity notes, followed by an aftertaste of malt. But it has a thin body, and a disapating head. Not the best brew, but not the worst either. Very drinkabe and above average for its class.

So many beers, so little time. Don’t waste time on this one. It’s ok, but like all the others. Yellow, clear. Medium head, white. Not much aroma, flavor has a sweet start, finish is a little bitter, grass.

LyndaNova (532) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 17, 2006
Cold 12oz bottle, served along with miso soup and sushi. Pours a clear golden color with a moderate light tan head, which dissipates quickly and leaves some lacing. Aroma is of light hops and hay, with floral notes. Taste is grainy and crisp, with light bitterness and a hint of lemon. Fizzy on the tongue. Ending is grainy with light bitterness.

Straw yellow with little head. Some light tasting malt, virtually no hops and even less finish. Not great, but better than most.

Bottle picked up the ’Dodgy Deli’ on the Cowley Rd, Wed 23rd August. Pours a pale yellow colour, tastes bland, just about detect malt and hops if you try hard enough, but quite disappointing really.

bottle - Oh look, it’s yet another piss yellow, grainy smelling pale lager. I did pick up a little hops in the nose too. The good news is it’s better than Bud, Miller, and a number of other beers of this style. Though maybe I was favorly biased because I was enjoying some good food at the time that I tried the Kirin. The bad news is that it’s still not very good. There’s some mild malt flavors, not much hops, a thin body, and a dry feel more consistent with the Asian pale lagers. That’s about it.

JFGrind (2046) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2006
Brewed by A-B in California and two bucks a bottle at the soon to be Brady’s now Old Chicago in Trevose, PA. A little more bitter than I thought it would be, but other than that just another pale lager.
