12 oz. bottle. Deep golden with nice white head. Lacing OK. Not a lot of flavor, but at least it had some (re: Sapporo). Malty, no discernable hop flavor or aroma. Equal to the best US macro. Compared to other choices at the Japanese steakhouse in which I tried it, it was unfortunately the best. Not too bad, not too good. And definitely not "just right." Pours a translucent goldne with an average bubbly white head that diminished. Aroma was grassy, sweet malts, slight hop presence. Beer was crisp, dry and refreshing. Some grainy sweet malts, bread, rice and a light hop bitterness. Went alright with the sushi I was having. HarryFlashman (469) - Chatham, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2006
I drank this out of a 330ml bottle not a ridiculous looking can like the one adjacent! Like Asahi, this is a very dry beer, but almost equally as good and refreshing. I have to say that it hasn’t got a great deal of taste, but that means it slips down a treat. At 5% I could see myself getting well and truly rat-arsed on this on a night out with the lads in a Japanese city like Peking or Bangkok. One might say that this is a kamakazi of a beer that could leave you with a Hiroshima of a headache in the morning given half a chance!!! eyesandsmiles (179) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - NOV 16, 2006
I liked it slightly more than sapporo. all in all i think its a pretty decent beer. dry and smooth. SudsMcDuff (8541) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - NOV 14, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2008 had twice, today at CL hunan with general tso chicken, did not mix well...
pours a straw yellow colour..bigass head when poured at pace..has decent lacing though!..smell is just terrible, beer dumpster..subtle bitterness but is missing some edge..quite bland really, was expecting a little better but.....why???
avoid at all costs, just drink the free water instead

Bottle at Yamashiro, Hollywood Hills, Calif. A nice light lager, with proud head, that complemented my excellent sushi well. A tad sweet, malty with watery finish. almopina (87) - Madrid, SPAIN - OCT 29, 2006
Clear golden colour with a white head that disappeares quickly. Light corny and grainy aroma. Very sweet malt taste with basically no hop notes. Light and fresh mouthfeel. Slight acidity with a slight metallic aftertaste. A nice pale lager for people who like very sweet beers with basically no hop bitterness. An interesting beer in the sense that its sweetness would pair well with many light food. Finn (8305) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 27, 2006
Bottle 0,5l at Aki Japanese Bistro London WC1 15 Sep 06. Clear golden coloured. A small white head. Metallic aroma. Hardly any flavour. OK to sushi. Theis (15150) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2006
Bottle at home. Light yellow - white head. A very watery beer. Light malty, "vegetable", sweetness, some hop !?!! Not much of anything. Rune (13720) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 26, 2006
500ml bottle at a Sushi place near Holborn in London. Starts with a huge white head over a clear, straw yellow body. Nice lacing on the glass. Light and fresh mouthfeel. Grainy aroma. Served far too cold to spot any flavour - all with the exception of some sugar sweetness. Did not do any harm to the sushi food (15.09.2006).
