650ml bottle. Clear light golden pour with average white head that sticks around a little longer than most macro swill. Smells....rancid. Almost like someone left corn sitting out and it turned and then that same someone threw a bag of white sugar on it for reasons unknown. Tastes much better than it smells...not that thats saying a whole lot. Its a little sweet and has that corn mash edge to it but theres a nice crispness. Certainly a step above most lawnmower beer, but not a big one.

Vegetable flavor, no bitterness, small head, no body, kind of strange beer, just ok for a hot day.

Bottle. Pale yellow with white head. Aroma straw and hay. Taste some bitterness, a little malt. A rather dull and boring pale lager.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2012 Poured from a 750ml bottle into a pint glass. From notes. Originally reviewed 11/26/2008. Although not expecting much from a Japanese macro brew, Kirin still leaves a lot to be desired. It pours a very light straw yellow, and has almost no distinct smell. The odor does vary from an American macro, probably from the use of rice. There is a small head, leaving almost no lace on the glass. It tastes almost exactly as it smells, nondescript and dull. The one upside to this beer is the drinkability. Although it would not pair well with almost any food due to the lack of flavor, it was smooth enough to wash down the sushi I was enjoying without getting in the way.

This beer succeeds in being extremely easy to drink by being completely and utterly flavourless. It seems as if they used decent ingredients to avoid any unpleasant flavours or adjunct taste, its actually kind of an impressive beer in that regard. Completely neutral.

I heard good stuff about this before I tried it. Weak aroma and flavor. I should say above average, but I guess above sub-standard works better.

Looks like urine. Smells of burnt rice and yeast. Slight bitterness, very bland, and not very smooth. Not worth the effort.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2005 Has the wet cardboard grassy flavor typical of this type. Better than Mexican anyhow, nothing special.

My first impression was, Wow, this tastes like Bud. Then I read the label and it says under supervion by Anheuser-Busch. Not bad if you want to pay twice as much for Bud in a different package.

I was told that this would be good, so I was hugely disappointed after the first sip. Im pissed that there are still 4 of these in my fridge. Tasted about a half step above american standards. Very watery, it wasnt even worth pouring into a glass.
