Pours with a bright yellow color, thin head, medium level of carbonation. The taste is slightly bitter, crisp, dry except for some bitterness -- in the finish. GOOD BEER Osmin99 (120) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 1, 2001beervana (781) - Libertyville, Illinois, USA - SEP 27, 2005
Purchased can at Whole Foods’ refrigerated beer section and consumed within the 180 day freshness limit from bottling date. Small white head that rapidly diminished and with spare lacing. Clear golden yellow color with clean slight citrus aroma. Light-to-medium bodied with lively carbonation. Starts with slightly sweet malty flavor and finishes with a faint dry hop bitterness. I enjoyed this refreshing lager beer with a seafood dinner. MontereyJimbo (79) - Monterey, California, USA - NOV 30, 2007
This is a pretty mild beer for an import, but definitely not a "light" beer because it has flavor. It has a mild hops presence and goes down very easily. Like most pale lagers this won’t appeal to the NBS. I think it’s great. ronjustron (22) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 8, 2012
A good beer, nice colour and good pour. Good taste and the aftertaste isn’t too harsh either. Overall, a very good beer.

A good standard beer. It’s nice when bottled, but terrific when served cold from the tap. KapitiCritique (379) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - DEC 5, 2011
A bottle at the Cheese Factory in KC. They have a number of Boulevard beers on menu as well. Pours a beautiful deep straw colour, head dissipates quickly, not much lacing, persistent carbonation - this is the sort of beer you drink in a tall flute glass, slightly yeasty fruity nose- distinctive pears; very dry, a tad bitter, does not have the salty CO2 of many US pale lagers; quick finish, good sparking carbonation. Good example of the type. This bottle brewed in Japan. I was in Japan when it came out, the can pictured here is a garish example. It was well received by the expat community. The scores here reflect a snooty beer-bongers snootiness. This is an excellent example of the style. The fact that I only drink a bottle of this every few years is irrelevant.
