Ok - so the main reason I reviewed this beer so highly is that it is the best beer at the HEB supermarket for under $6 per 6-pack. This isn't a flashy beer, it is very functional. It compliments a Hibachi steak very well. It is one of the few beers my wife and I actually agree on. Light enough for her, tasty enough for me, and less than a buck a bottle. Not a world champ, but something I like to keep in the fridge.

Probobly my favorite beer from the land of the rising sun. It is highly drinkable and sepecially goes well with sushi. Gold color and light aroma with no real lingering taste.

Kirin Ichiban has a very thick, white head and a clear, golden appearance with lots of bubbles streaming up and a decent amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is a typical, run-of-the-mill beer smell. Taste is grainy, sweet, and there is some hop bitterness showing up. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Kirin Ichiban finishes crisp, refreshing, and mostly dry. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer, and I highly recommend it. RJT

A crispy, delicious and fine Japanese beer. It has a malty aroma, like cereal and hay. Also, a good body, good blond color, fuzzy and good foam. It tastes really good, sweeter than bitter. Good job Japan.

another beer with a thin, white head and little carbonation. however, it still has a nice, bubbly palate. there's a slight corn aftertaste...

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2007 Light to medium gold with a fair amount of white head. Definite lacing as I drink. Smell is of honey sweet malt mostly. Taste is refreshing, slightly watery, with a touch of bitter and sweet malt up front followed by a smooth lightly sweet rice-like finish. I really like this one, and it is definitely my favorite light lager. Very easy drinking and refreshing with a hot meal, or on a hot day and exactly what I’m looking for when I want a cold beer to cool me off.
