This Kirin Stout pours a thin black and is topped by a persistent cappuccino colored hear. Decent amount of lacing.
The smell is very minimal. Whisps of coffee and chocolate with a metallic edge.
The taste is light and bitter with a slight metallic finish. Hints of coffee.
The mouthfeel is very light with a small amount of carbonation.
Overall, this beer is ok but nothing special.

Black. Very dark brown head that has a creamy texture. Aroma is fresh coffee. Taste starts with coffee but has a weirdly metallic and sour finish. juvedp (75) - CHINA - MAR 15, 2017
dark color, brown head which fades fast. taste of roasted bread and coffee. decent. Scipio (1081) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2017
Pours black with a medium tan head that fades rapidly. The aroma is more subtle, with chocolate, coffee, caramel, and licorice, with the licorice being prominent. The taste is heavy in licorice. Chocolate and earthy malts are quite potent in here. Mild smokiness and a bit of toffee are in here as well. Licorice aftertaste. This one is medium in body, with a thin texture, and has soft carbonation. This is a somewhat different stout than I'm used to, and it isn't bad. Luneylane (193) - Taipei City, TAIWAN - JUL 28, 2016
Two 330ml. cans from Family Mart, poured into a pint glass to lend the appearance of a pint, drunk at home. Aroma: malty, licorice. Appearance: almost black, with a generous tan head that soon dissipates. Palate: full-bodied, lively carbonation, oily texture with a long finish. Taste: sweet and heavy, a lot going on here - besides the licorice, I’m picking up chocolate. Excellent brew, good value for money and widely available in Taipei. I’ll be checking for this one regularly as an alternative to my usual, and the more expensive and less potent Guinness.

35 cl bottle from a 7-11 in Hong Kong, around 1HK$, 5%. Dark brown color almost black with a nice but reducing brown head. Toasted nose. Aroma is toasted malts, coffee, toasted cereals, dark bread, something metallic possibly due to the can. Taste is rather flat, finish slightly bitter and dry. Light body, carbonated, a bit watery. Simple stout but pretty drinkable.Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 17, 2016

Sampled on draft at Beer Cafe Three Parlor in Kabukicho. Surprisingly good. Nice and roasty, with a bit of an earthy bite on the tail to balance out the cocoa sweetness. Not quite a sweet stout, but sweeter than what I was expecting. Kinda like a guiness foreign export, but without quite as high abv. Very creamy body would make me think that it was on nitro, but it was not. Could just be that after drinking nothing but light beer for two weeks, ANY dark beer would have been delicious, but I think this one was actually quite a delightful little find - especially in a beer dessert. visionthing (5363) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 4, 2016
On tap at Kirin City, Tokyo. Ordered the "frozen" version, so dark, dark mahogany body with a nice soft ice looking, beige head. Mild roasty aroma with notes of dark fruits, hints of chocolate and coffee. Moderate to medium sweet with quite okay, but mild roasty flavours and a light bitterness. Fair enough. eduardovl (1449) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 26, 2016
330ml can served in a Pint glass. Serves a dark brown to black color forming a creamy beige head with low retention and some soapy lacings left in the glass. Roasted nose with some notes of coffee and grassy hops. Oreo biscuits. Light caramel notes. Slightly sweet upfront taste. Medium to low bitterness. Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Roasted malts in the aftertaste but not very persistent. Not bad. Moravius (1290) - Pyongyang, NORTH KOREA - DEC 1, 2015
Dose ("Kirin Stout", 33 cl) aus dem Pyongyang Shop. - Tiefdunkelbraun; dunkelbeigefarbener Schaum.
