Ruskin’s Bitter z browaru Kirkby Lonsdale to zaskakująco przyjemne piwo.

A pale bitter, gentle hop and malt build, nothing particularly exciting about it.

Cask conditioned at Stratford upon Avon Beer Festival ’15. Amber with white head. This is a light, thinnish bitter with a caramel, toffee’d hint. Some grassy hop notes, a light bitterness. It’s okay.

Cask at the Vic, Preston. Pours clear golden amber with a thick white head. Aromas of light citrus, pine. Taste is watery though, herbal bitter, if watery finish. Started well...

Cask at The Royal Oak, Ambleside. So so bitter with no outstanding features. Slight wood. Bland and old school.

Cask in the Water Witch, Lancaster. Amber with a cream head. Pretty short on flavour. A little apricot and citrus. Average at best.

Nice amber orange with a soapy lasting very lacy creamy head. Smells of citrus hops, straw, malt and cereal. Medium creamy body. Light cereal toasted malt sweetness with some caramel and a bitter hop citrus greapefruit finish. Earthy. A little bitter on the grassy finish. Good balance.

March 2010: 500ml of bottle conditioned English bitter, poured into a vase shaped pint glass, carefully. I bought this and two other, different bottles while at the Brewery Tap. The beer is clear amber and an off-white creamy head sits on top, the head left some good lacing as the beer level sank. The aroma is a heady mix of hops and yeast, couldn’t detect any malts in the smell. The taste is mostly hop based too, giving the beer a true bitter feel and a tangy bite throughout the tasting. The brewery only started up in Feb 2009, by four mates who liked Real Ale. This was their first beer brewed, I hope the other two I have to review are as good!
