Bottle - Overall a dissapointing beer that is only barely better than the huge macro’s. I would have expected some hops and bitterness but what I got was just bad. Not really worth the work to describe in detail, just avoid. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - FEB 28, 2013
My first of the Costco-beers. A friend had a mixture of these in his fridge the other day. Intrigued, I grabbed this one.
A dark orange/copper color with a small off-white head on top. Nice floral aromas with citrus and a dry straw -like scent on the finish. Definitely some hoppy-ness in the nose.
Crisp, moderate heft bolster this beer well. Good feel to hold up to the bitterness that’s to come. Flavors of bitter hops, semi-sweet orange slices, dry grains - all meld together to create a simple easy-drinking ale. The hops aren’t the most flavorful here, but they get the job done.
I see these beers as being great gateway beers for people newly into craft beer. They’re simple and tasty, and the pricepoint will appeal to the masses as well. DuffMan (10751) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 27, 2013
Bottle. Beautiful appearance: deep orange colour, clear, with a thick dense gold-tinted head that shows excellent retention. Aroma is sweet fruity caramel. Flavour is again fruity caramel with an astringent bitter note in the finish. Very thin, anemic hop presence. Oh well -- looks pretty! steez (34) - Georgia, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Floral peachy and piney weak aroma. Typical pour and appearance. Taste like bitter stainless steel. weird stuff. Probably good for a upper middle class grad party. Do they still drink at grad parties? Garbageman (487) - Lexington, South Carolina, USA - FEB 13, 2013
From bottle. Pours golden in color. Aroma was all pine. Taste was all bitter. No malt balance in this.

Aroma. I can smell pine, grapefruit and caramel
Pours, a nice rich copper colour.
Taste. Flavours are of Pine and Grapefruit in the hop flavours, followed by Caramel and a creamy bubblegum flavour in the malt flavours.
Overall. A quality beer and a good change from other american ipa’s ive tasted.

Not good at all. Possibly the worst ipa ive ever had. Tastes more like old style with a slight hop presence. Glad i didnt buy a case of this swill. Dodgrblu (756) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 12, 2013
12 ounce bottle at the Niner game. Drinkable but nothing special. Very little bitterness. HighlanderOne (1393) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Poured from bottle. Faint aroma of hops, gas and sourdough. Looks like typical IPA. Floral and grapefruit hops, bread. Sour aftertaste. OK but needs more hop presence. skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Pours a clear copper color with a one finger off white head which fades to thin lacing. Aroma is of sweet toasted biscuit malts, caramel, pine, and a little citrus. Taste is not as good as aroma and is primary of slightly stale sweet biscuit malts, some caramel, a little citrus, and maybe the fainted pine. Has a medium body with a slightly creamy, but also watery mouthfeel and a semi dry, slightly bitter, short, finish. overall, a below average IPA that might be good for the money and for a company like Costco, but not something I would drink on a regular basis.
