UPDATED: JUL 31, 2015 Tasted on tap at the 2015 UCBC Wolpertinger Festival in a tulip glass. It poured an opaque dark brown colour with thin, short-lived off-white foam. A nice creamy true-to-style oatmeal stout base plus masala curry spices. I could recognize cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, black pepper. Medium body and carbonation, strong aftertaste. Too spicy for an everyday session drinker, but good and tasty in small doses. vyvvy (6639) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 25, 2014
Pours brown with an off-white head. The aroma is spice heavy (of course) with an Indian flair to it and includes cinnamon and clove jumping out. There is a smooth roastiness lingering there as well. It has a medium body with a low amount of carbonation. The flavor starts out with lots of spice, but not as heavy as the aroma. It has light sweetness, smooth earth, nutmeg and spicing I associate with Christmas. The finish is dry, powdery and spicy. The stout qualities play second fiddle and a nice backing to a solid spice ale. ryanfolty (2585) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 5, 2014
February 5, 2014 on tap at iTap. Very dark maybe black pour with some head. Aroma was chai, malt and oats/grain. Taste was consistent with aroma, but the chai was very strong. Medium body and relatively smooth drinking. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - FEB 3, 2014
2/3/2014. On tap. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate and spices. Very balanced spicy flavors, rich chocolate and a light bitter finish. Not bad at all. jandd1983 (4550) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - DEC 14, 2013
It poured a dark almost black color with a small light tan head. The aroma was oily, rich, dark and of molasses. The taste was similar with a good oatmeal backbone and the 10 different spices prevailed. Very nice, would definitely have it again.
