Bottle. Pours a dark cola brown with a good, off-white head. Aroma is dark malt bread, slight toastiness, slight dark fruit. Taste is a nice dark maltiness, malt bread, some herbal notes, slight dark fruit, slightly toasted, fairly bright. Good carbonation, medium.

Erzengel (9616) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 23, 2015
UPDATED: NOV 9, 2017 Malty-grainy beginning. Hints of malty sweetness. Round, fresh. Dry chocolate in the aftertatste. Grain, dark malt, moderate dry with not much bitterness. I like the chocolate taste in the aftertaste. Hints of roast and very smooth. Nice sessionable brew.

BlackHaddock (7746) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2013
Half-litre tall glass: Cochem Cond, on 21 Sep 2013. Sunny day with a view across the river to Cochem Burg (castle); lovely.

Beer came with a moody, murky look, orangey, with a cloudy centre, the off-white head hung around for a short while before becoming a collar and thin wisp.

The nose was semi-sweet malts, with some orchard fruit and yeast notes, the taste also semi-sweet malty and again with a fruity feel.

Well carbonated and refreshing, smoother than it looks: a very pleasant brew to sit and watch the river flow with.

3.5
Shaney (2423) - Köln / Cologne, GERMANY - JUL 19, 2013
Dunkles Bernstein, leicht trüb mit viel Schaum. Malzwürziges Aroma nach Karamell und Süßholz. Vollmundiger Antrunk. Gute Balance zwischen malziger Süße und der Würze dunkler Malze, klingt angenehm bitter nach. Insgesamt ein gutes, süffiges Landbier mit Wiedererkennungsfaktor!

3.4
Koelschtrinker (21828) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - FEB 7, 2013
Leicht herb-säuerlicher Antrunk, weich röstige Malznoten. Die Röstigkeit nimmt zu, vollmundig, wenig schokoladig. Würzig bitteres Finish. Gut! 12/10/11/11/11/11
