deep amber color. Candied apples and big fruity nose. Very unique almost cookie like malt character with tons of hops. Very bitter. Some what vegetle. A bit bizarre but certainly not bad. I would drink again JorgeLee (2086) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 12, 2013
Keg at Devil Craft, Tokyo. Ordering an altbier always makes me feel like I’m setting myself up for a solid but average drink. This was better. Deep amber brown in colour. Earthy character, good malt character plus quite a hop hit, I wrote bitter toffee if that makes any sense. Authentic, and good. KyotoLefty (10193) - Kyoto, JAPAN - OCT 27, 2013
Draught at Dig Beer. Dark brown with lace. Nose of chocolate, grass, hay, minerals. Dry, light, very grass flavor, with some chocolate and caramel. Very clean and crisp and drinkable. Nice hops. I think this was the dry-hopped version. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 10, 2013
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2013 Keyaki. Amber coloured, small off-white head. Taste is interesting, fruity or maybe perfume like. Taste is perfume like, bit malty. Wrote butter, but maybe that should be bitter. This was a late night rating. Rerate: this time a version not dry-hopped at the Watering Hole. Score has come out the same. Dark amber colour, light golden head. Aroma is toffee, little bit prickly. Bit chemical fruitiness. Taste is nice though, light spiciness, decent malty body. Good stuff.
