Can from Beer Market. Kisoji Porter 5% A deep sooty black with a thick beige head and roasty nutty chocolate aroma. as it warms the smell became syrupy sweet chocolate and a bit offputting (leading me to knock it from Ar 7 to 6). Medium bodied at first but it finishes light. The taste is syrupy sweet chocolate, a touch of ash and dark bitter roastiness. Alright they nailed the look not it needs more body and depth.

Draft - Dark roast and chocolate. Jet brown with a small light brown head. Dark roast, bitterness and a very light pallet.

Straight forward porter. Everything in its right place without really ever really getting out of third gear. Lightish body, but gies it a nice drinkability.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2015 Tap at the Watering Hole. Brown coloured with golden head. Aroma oaty and roasty, spicy. Taste is ok though, spicy, biscuity, bit of roast. Not so bad, but not quite there.

Cask in Devil Craft. Dark brown colour, minimal head. Slightly thin tasting porter, hints of chocolate butna surprisingly sweet and brief finish. Not bad.

KyotoLefty (10611) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 31, 2010
Draught at the brewery. Black with a pretty tan head. Roasty aroma, creamy, with coffee. Slightly woddy flavor with milk and coffee. Good flavor and balance. Mineral and wood finish is also earthy. A bit thin in body.

larsga (7630) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 22, 2007
Light beige coarse mid-sized head. Deep dark brown body, barely translucent. Roasty pine needle aroma. Sweet perfumed roasty taste, a bit watery. Dry, minty aftertaste. Not bad, but too watery. (0.35l on draft.)
