Pours brownish copper with a small beige head. The aroma has sweet Belgian malt / yeast, pomegranate, brown sugar, toffee and a bit of cough syrup. Medium / full body that’s rich with micro-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with drier breadier malt, Belgian earthiness, spice, dry citrus rind and pomegranate. The finish is very spicy and has lots of orange peel notes. Quite nice.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dark copper/amber with a 3 finger creamy beige head. Aroma is some sort of fruit and orange zest. Med body. Flavor is certainly fruit and orange zest, with some dark malt and yeast/spice. The flavors are strong. I guess I don’t eat enough pomegranates to know that flavor well. On my side - there are a lot of flavors in here.

Defreni (3222) - Husum, DENMARK - MAY 6, 2012
Flaske: Brunrød klar øl med et fint skumhoved. Duften er let sødlig krydret, brown agtig. Smagen er syrlig meget interessant. Krydret med en del bitterhed til sidst til at binde det sammen. Meget interessant øl.

Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding.
Pours chestnut brown with a small, creamy, white film head. Aroma has strawberries, fruit, oranges, sweet maltiness. Mild caramel. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light grainy mouthfeel. Flavour has good bitterness, light milky chocolate, mild grainy, pomegranate is there. Mild strawberry feel. Good and elegant.
