Editor’s note: formerly brewed at Fanø Bryghus.

English: Rich, velvety, chocolaty and soft malty body, balanced medium bitternes and sweetnes with a honey driven extra silky smooth malty finish. Think Fuller’s London Porter married to dark Grand Cru chocolate and genuine Fanø heather honey...

This was a pleasantly nice Baltic style porter. The honey barely comes through, but lots of chocolate malt and coffee flavors come through nice. This is a very smooth brew with a nice mouth-feel not too thin, not too thick. Nice head lots of lacing. Nice job on this one.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with shades of ruby and airy but stable tahn head. Clear aroma of malt and roast, with notes of coffee and honey and dark chocolate. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of brett and honey and touches of hops and malt. Slightly acidic aftertaste with dusty hints. Warming alcohol presence. Decent.

The aroma is full of chocolate, malt, coffee, tar, rope and honey. The color is pitch black with a nice little frothy head. The taste is full of chocolate, malt, coffee and honey. Really nice and silky on the tongue. The finish is smooth and bitter. A treat!

Bottle. 6.5%. No ’best before’ date. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown, with a tan head. Sweet aroma, roasted, dark fruits, plums, bit of oxidation. Hint of chocolate as it warms. Flavour is roasted, dark fruits, and a bit of oxidation here as well. Hint of liquorice. Mildly bitter, slightly tart finish with a lingering creamy coffee note, followed by a mild alcohol burn. Hint of apple and hops as it warms. Soft palate. Overall good; well-balanced. Not getting any honey, but that might have been lost in the oxidation. A wee bit cloying though, but not enough to make an impact. 17.11.15.

Ikke en tung porter. Men smag af kaffe, honning og ikke mindst fylde der ikke passer helt til en porter, men godt øl!

Black of color with a brown head. An aroma of roasted malt, charcoal, liqurice and chocolate. A flavor of roasted malt, liqurice, chocolate, coffee and weak sweets.

Mörkbrun med stort ljusbrunt skum. Gusher!! Doft och smak av lite choklad, kaffe men väldigt tunn och tråkig.

0.65 bottle. Very dark brown color and a big, tanned head. Strong aroma of roasted malts, wood, leather, barnyard, and some honey-like sweetness. Taste is sweet, a lot of roast, dark malts, only small hints of the promised honey. Full body, thick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is medium long and bittersweet, again there isn’t much of the promised honey. Overall a mediocre beer, I honestly expected something more.

"brewed for them by Mercury Brewing in MA. Didn’t really get into this one as much as I thought I would. Could be on the older side. I like honey, and poter, but this seemed overly roasted and a bit too sweet. Not unpleasant, but not something I would have liked to drink a whole bottle of either."

Dark brown coloured beer with a medium to large creamy head. Aroma is roasted malt, honey and some coffee notes. Flavor is caramel, coffee that ends with a dry finish.

Marduk (8622) - Reval, ESTONIA - FEB 26, 2014
660ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Dark brown color. Small size, brown head, stays. Sour, coffee, grainy, sweet aroma. Milky, coffee, roast, hazelnut skins, condensed milk gone wrong in taste.
