COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish.

English. A deep copper coloured IPA with a distinct bitternes. Dry, but quite malty body with a hint of caramel and a rich, fruity hop aroma and flavour. Think a maltier and bolder version of the new classic Kissmeyer Pale Ale!

Bottle, shared april 6th 2013. hazy amber body, creamy light brown head. Aroma is malty with caramel and a touch of pine. Sweet malt taste with roast and a sour aftertaste. Rather boring stuff.

Pours amber look with afrothy white head. Malts, dough and grapefruit in the aroma. Light sweetness, medium bitterness, notes of caramel, berries and pine on the taste. medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation and a short dry not so bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle. Best before date is December 2012, making it a bit past its prime, so I’ll try to take that into account. Pours a nice copper-red with a large and creamy tan head. Aroma is quite malty, with notes of buckwheat honey and relatively subdued fruity/citric hops. Flavour is similarly malt-forward, with more of the honey suggested in the aroma, some biscuit and a hint of cocoa, and mellow hops to balance. I imagine the hops would’ve popped more if the bottle was fresher, and as such, it didn’t come across as an IPA - but looking at it as a lighter barley wine or strong ale, it’s quite nice even in its old age.

Pours a dark red with a medium off white head. Aroma is biscuit caramel malts with a small pine hop presence. Taste is caramel and biscuit malts, dry mouthfeel with pine and fruity hops with a moderate bitterness. Not a bad beer, wanted more.

Bottle [500ml] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a murky copper-amber with a large lasting frothy beige head and some light lacing on the glass. Aroma of biscuity caramel malt, light spices, light spicy hops and some fruit. Flavour follows the aroma, with biscuity malt, fruit, spicy hops, some maple syrup and a nice bitter finish. Medium bodied. A nice surprise, this was really good.

0.5l bottle. This is a clear deep bronze-red one with a nice medium sized beige top that sticks around for a while. The nose is really caramel-hoppy and sticky with lots of light pungent hops. Dominating yes, but it’s also fruity with peaches and sweet berries and it has traces of licorice. Interesting aroma. Spot on average carbonated and the mouthfeel is light medium-bodied. Nice flavors. It’s hoppy yet quite caramel sweet. Some wet rocks in here with traces of pine and English cake. Really light drinkable, with high quenching qualities. Balanced with a lingering malty and hoppy-caramel aftertaste. I really enjoyed drinking this. 7% ABV? Did not notice that at all.. *edit 8 minutes later: OK you can definitely notice that there is some alcohol in the bottle after all.. 29.01.2013

500ml bottle - thanks to B! - shared with blankboy and biegaman. Deep clear ruby with a huge fluffy lasting beige/tan head. Dry aroma, floral, some alcohol - a bit of gluten and wheat flour. Taste - leafy IPA / west coast barley wine-ish, solid almost burnt malt backbone, really nice. Thick, moderately carbonated, starts very malty, finishes dry and somewhat resiny - not huge, but very nice.

Deep caramel hued, producing a nice inch of creamy, slightly off-white head. Inviting aroma of citrus, flowers and pine, with some caramel to back it all up. Loads of caramel and toffee in the taste and the bitterness is rather subdued. Well balanced, and very drinkable. Medium to light body and medium carbonation

3.2
Cunningham (8266) - Halden, NORWAY - JAN 20, 2013

Appearance: Hazy amber color with an off white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malt, light fruity and disappointing low hop profile.
Palate: Medium body. A bit sweet, light fruity and some bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: A dominating caramel malty picture. Light fruity and light spicy. Low hoppy profile.
Overall impression: Nice ale, but not very typical for its style. Fresh and easy drinkable.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway

Deep clear ruby color with a creamy tan head. Fresh aromas of citrusy hops and some pine. Rich flavors of malt, chocolate, roastiness, dark fruits and citrus. All in a great mix. A good beer indeed.
