Plovmand (8597) - Grindsted, DENMARK - MAR 24, 2011
On tap. Pours pitch black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is smoke, chocolate, roast and light coffee. The flavour is smoked, bacon, roast and some coffee. Long roasted smoked finish.

laiti (8508) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 24, 2011
Draught @ Gastropub Nordic
Aroma has lots of liquorice and some smoke. Flavour has very much liquorice, which is slightly salty. Some smoke, chocolate and hints of ash too. One of the best baltic porters I’ve had. At the end of the glass the salt becomes too dominant though.

Sigmund (7834) - Tau, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2011
On tap, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, big beige head. Strong aroma of smoked meat / bacon, also roasty notes. The flavour has also strong smokey notes, and moderate roasty notes. A bit too much "smoked meat" for my taste. Not very sweet. A "German Rauchbier meets Baltic Porter"-experience.

lusikka (7819) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 17, 2011
Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet syrup, smoke, tar and roasted malts. Flavour of roasted malts, tar, syrup, bitter hops and chocolate. Full bodied with an oily mouthfeel and a warming finish with licorice and roasted malts. Good one.

larsga (7629) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 3, 2011
Medium beige head. Deep dark hazy red body is just barely translucent. Wood smoke and toffee aroma, very clean and vivid. Dry-sweet roasty smoky chocolate taste with mealy licorice notes. Mid-to-full body. Clean, fresh palate. Dryish chocolatey licorice and nutty wood smoke aftertaste. Delicate and drinkable. Long earthy finish. (0.4l draft at Schouskjelleren.)

mjs (7610) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2011
(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20110820) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and light brown. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and mildly smoke. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were rosted malts, smoke, hops, coffee, mild sourness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste had smoke, liquorice and bitterness. Nice porter but I would have liked heavier smoke aroma.

tiong (7517) - Espoo, FINLAND - SEP 17, 2011
Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours pitch black with a small foamy head. Massive roasty and smoky aroma with heavy notes of tar, licorice and bacon. Taste of smoked malts and ham. Notes of roastiness and tar. Finish is quite malty and slightly bitter. Great smoked beer and a quite well balanced porter.

vtafro (7444) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - MAR 27, 2014
(Backlog, first beer from amsterdam) Draft. Black pour with tan head. Chocolate, light fruit and a pretty heavy smoke profile on flavor. Roasted and chocolate aromas with a smoke influence.

Borresteijn (7415) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 24, 2011
On tap at Beer Temple. Almost black colour, light beige head. Aroma of bacon and butter, smoke, sweet malts, rye, some chocolate. Flavour is sweet, rye, smoke, light buttery (like popcorn), light salty meat, sweetish finish. Light to medium bodied. OK.

ekstedt (6947) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 29, 2011
Draught at the Danish Beer Festival 2011. Roasted aroma with clear smoked notes. Medium bodied and smooth. Semi dry with medium bitterness. I could really have liked this without the smokiness.
