Copenhagen 6/5 2017. 65 cl bottle from "Den Gamle Købmand". Red label with Ice Crystals just to ensure that I understand that this is an Christmas Beer. No explanation for the Fairly Strange name. Pours hazy opaque maroon with white head.Settles as thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. No lacing. Aroma is intensely sweet and boozy. Fermented sweet dark fruit, plum, sherry and toffee. Sharp alcoholic tang. Soft carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is heavy sweet followed by light sourness. Aftertaste is sweet fermented fruit and licorice. It reminds me of the chocolate sweets I was not allowed to taste when I was a kid because they contained alcohol (I manged to steal one once in a while). More of an light Barley Wine suitable for sipping slowly than anything I would bring to an Christmas Dinner.

Aged 3 years. Hazy deep copperish amber with a thin off white foamy top. Lovely sweet earthy cocoa malty nose with a nice little pop of tart cherry and maybe also a dash of strawberry. Full flavor with nice little nuances of cherry, cocoa, nutty sweet earthy belgian malts, gentle dark german wheat, very gentle tartness, earthy and slightly chocolate on the finish. Nice. Smooth and not too outlandish Christmas beer.

Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - FEB 10, 2015
Dark brown of color with a beige head. An aroma of caramel, prunes, molasse, sugar and spice. A flavor of molasse, malty, spice, alcohol and sweets. Tastes more like a barley wine :/

BelgiskOlklub (1083) - Viby J, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2015
Ruby hazy body and a small white diminishing head. Powerfull aroma of malt, alcohol, nuts, cinnamon, grass and heerbs. The taste is heavy sweet and balanced with a long bitter finish. Sticky texture.

650 ml, flaske, 7,5 % ABV, købt i Kvickly Allerød, 7. januar 2015. Velsmagende!

Bottle at home. Low fluffy lasting off-white head. Hazy brown body. Sweet peach apple aroma. Spicy coriander pepper fruity flavor. High carbonation. Long finish.
