Lovely dark amber, fluffy head.
Aromatic hops lovely interwoven with nice malty body. Herbs, white petter, sutlte rather than extreme. Cunningham (8528) - Halden, NORWAY - AUG 6, 2012
Amber colour with a tan head. Malty and fruity aroma. What on earth did they think about when they wrote: Think a bolder and more aromatic version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. No way. SNPA rules! This had a solid malty background in the flavour with some fruity and bready notes. More malty than hoppy this one. APA? Hmmm. Soft texture.Finn (8305) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2012
[Bottle from Vinmonopolet - Oslo City Shoppingcenter in Oslo, Norway]
Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Drukket i heimen 16 Jul 12. Orange-brun. Litt uklar. Høyt kremaktig skum som varer en god stund. God fruktig aroma. Innslag av mandler. Lite kullsyre. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken sammensatt. mandler & aprikos. Svakt syrlig ettersmak. OK tørsteslukker - men også egnet som koseøl. KI=7. Foffern (2047) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium frothy light beige head. Wood and leather in the aroma with also a touch of sweet berries and sweet candy. Also a lot of wood, leather and bread in the flavour as well. Soft and slick mouthfeel. Bitterness = light+. An okay pale ale, fine balance with a small hop bite. 500 ml bottle. Light brown and clear. Medium-sized off-white head that clings to the glass. Nutty spicy aromas. Reminds me more of a brown ale than a pale ale. Rounded nutty sweet malty flavours. Quite rich. Malt driven instead of by hops. Some bitterness but it’s all well hidden. Biscuits and fresh bread. Well balanced and nicely drinkable.

Deep amber, super big tanned head. Smells of malts, some hops. Where is the big fruity aroma promised on the label? Some dark overripe fruits appear though. Medium malty, medium sweet, some dry dark fruits and caramel. Nice medium bitter finish, some resins and zest in there. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light oily feel. Totally i don’t feel that this beer deliver what it promise on the label. Even not sure if this really is an APA. Seems like people before me have questioned the same issues
500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Huge and thick off-white head, leaving frothing rings of lace on the glassware. Next to clear copper brown-tinged body. Smell of beady malts entwined with dried fruits. Fine blended taste of earthy malts, sweet berries, almond and ripe fruits, as well as a touch of pepper on the swallow. Not overly bitter finish. A good malt dominated pale ale (Saturday eve at home in Tromsø, 02.06.2012). berlinoise2go (689) - NORWAY - JUN 3, 2012
Bottle (50cl) from Vinmonopolet, Oslo. Finger-thick offwhite head that leaves some lacing. Copper/amber colour, slightly hazy. Aroma of malt, cookies, citrus, banana, ripe pear. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nicely balanced, semi-dry malty taste with a modest hop bitterness. Finish is more bitter and slightly acidic. ClubGonzo (5683) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 2, 2012
Bottle. My first Kissmeyer Beer, so expectations are pretty high! :-) Pours a deep bronze body with a coppery hue, crowned by a big bubbly white head. Aroma is fresh strawberries, overripe melon and hints of peaches, syrup and nuts. Very original and nice; like a combination of a brown and pale ale. Taste is earthy nougat-like tones, red berries and wet leaves. Hints of sweet biscuits. Hard to discern and rate really, as the flavors are blended very well. Smooth in mouthfeel, but somehow not very refreshing. This doesn’t strike me at all as an archetypical west coast APA. All in all a nice beer, but it lacks the winning edge and vanishes a bit in its own subtility. Still solid craftsmanship on display here.
