COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously called ’Kissmeyer West Coast Pale Ale’

English: Dry, crisp, medium malty body, medium smooth bitternes, big, fruity hop aroma and flavour. Think a bolder and more aromatic version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

(13.3 % P, 6.0 % ABV, 35 IBU, Colour 20 – 25 EBC).

[email protected] Soft, fruity and floral well balanced aroma. Amber, light hazy, off-white head, good lace. Malty, light fruity, light floral, light bitter, hint of toffee, hint of laurel. Medium body. Very easy, no complexity.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2015 (33 cl bottle from Kervan’s; L00138; P: 19/11/14; E: 19/11/15) Excited to see Kissmeyer’s beers produced at 961 brewing, who also brought us the much beloved Lebanese Pale Ale. This one was poured into a small Ølfabrikken snifter revealing a semi-clear amber body with medium white head. Good retention and beautiful lace. Aroma is dusty with hints of banana and grain. Oily texture, medium body, medium carbonation and a bitter finish. Flavour is moderately bitter with sprucy notes. I think the flavour has improved markedly since the one I tasted in 2012 and I would certainly like to try one of these in a fresher version to give the aroma a chance to unfold well. Original rating from February 3rd 2012 (A: 4; Ap: 4; Fl: 6; Pa: 4; O: 13): (50 cl bottle from Bunker Beer; BBD: 050113) Pours a clear, dark amber with medium, white head. Good lace and retention. Aroma is mostly malty with hints of dust and grain. Not much detectable hop aroma. Oily texture, medium carbonation, medium body with a slightly sweet finish. Taste is more sweet than bitter and definitely not dry. Easily drinkable, not very demanding, pleasant but perhaps not that terribly interesting.

Toasty and malty and somwhat sweet. Red and coppery. More like an english ale and than a pale ale. But anyway.

Bottle. Pours a golden bronze colour with dense light tan coloured head. Aromas are dominated by light caramel with some stone fruits in support. A little muted to be honest. Flavours are dominated by sugary sweetness with only the lfeintest hint of hop bitterness to balance. Solid mouthfeel. Slightly odd to be honest.

Dark hazy amber with a rich creamy head. Variety of citruses in nose including tangerines, mango and red grapefruits. Medium body, medium carbonation and slick texture. Bitter taste. Palate is evoking my stay at Hawaii, freedom and sunny holiday. Bitter aftertaste. [email protected]
