Kyotos first local beer in 1995. It has a good aroma, and is crisp and rich. We have used our own Fushimi water, and Seishu sake yeast for a slight sake-like aroma in this mellow, pale-gold beer.

Clear golden color with a small white head. Dry malt and sake in the aroma. The flavor is dry malt, sake and straw.

Can (as Kyoto Bakushu Gold Ale). Light golden, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light fruitiness, some citrus hoppyness, faint metal. Body is light, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light fruitiness, light - some citrus hoppyness. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish, faint fruitiness, light - some citrus hoppyness, faint metal. Watery body. Citrus aroma/flavor is bit artificial (like lemonade). Not very enjoyable.

Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, light hoppy. Flavor is light moderate sweet with a average duration, fruity malt, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170617]
