500ml bottle pours mahogany dark brown with tan head. Acidic dusty aroma. Initially light and acidic then aftertaste is pretty amazing. Chocolate, toffee, cherry, raisin. Dey and refreshing kiwi_daz (55) - NEW ZEALAND - MAY 9, 2014
Nice cherry flavour but not overpowering - did not notice any chocolate but could have been suffering from palate fatigue. Nice porter brewed out of Harringtons. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 8, 2013
The head is ok, the body black. It smells sweet, malty. The taste is malty, sweet, a bit chocolate and cherry but quite mild, creamy, balanced. Drinkable. Rangi (671) - NEW ZEALAND - JUN 21, 2013
Nice dark appearance. Minimum head that disappears quickly. Not to much in the way of aroma, faint cherry roast. Taste was not at all what I was expecting. Tart and sour almost vinegary. Slight cherry flavour but really the sour taste dominates cutting through any roast chocolate that might have been pleasant. Just not for me this one. lisagirl (264) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - APR 5, 2013
goooood. love my porters with an extra flavour. there isn’t really much to it beyond what it says on the front - chocolate and cherries. perhaps a little on the sweet side but porters are always nice with a little sugary touch. rating from memory unfortunately as it’s a seasonal, but when it comes back i’ll be sure to have another.

Cocoa and oak aroma. Darkish brown to black. Sweet cheery, but almost like a candy; not great. bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 18, 2012
Bottle with thanks to my sister. Pours a deep bronze brown with the smallest tan coloured head. Dissapears super quickly. Getting bugger all from the aroma to be honest. Perhaps a touch of roasted grain and a little acidity. Flavours are quite sour and oxidised. Very thin mouthfeel and lively carbonation makes it quite prickly and really emphaises the acidity. A bit rough but could easily drink a couple. Would be curious to see how it ages though I suspect the oxidation would take over. beerledgend (1196) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 29, 2012
Dark black in colour with thin off white head. Rasin/port aroma with hint of chocolate. Sherry flavours, warm mouthfeel. Smooth cherryripe aftertaste. Even my wife loved it!!! Pdubyah (791) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 19, 2012
Yes and no. Yes this is a bit of alright, and no I can’t believe it’s not actually a fruit flavoured beer. As it sits in the glass it gets more substance. It’s a bit thin, and the taste is a bit short, but this is a beer that I’d like to buy for friends, and know they’d not be upset.
